this might be the first book of our time to clearly interpret what's happening around us. including how religion government and other structures have used their power to program us into lower emotions so that we constantly leak life force and attract lower density entities. I was raised in an extremely religious home where both parents or children of Pentecostal ministers. fear was the great motivator for everything from not going to hell to not getting caught. Yes love was there and I was taught about Jesus, but there was so much shame in the religion and I didn't understand how those emotions which were being cultivated were also being used against me. there are so many fearful revelations once you open your mind to this being a possibility. most of my life I was ruled by fear. I think the people who really want to know what are going on in their spiritual search should read this. as always your heart should be your compass, you're collected wisdom. I learned a lot of things from this book that I haven't heard of before, and that's pretty hard to do because I've done a lot of reading. mostly I would like to say I think this is a work of great courage. for the scientific world will look at it as fiction. let them. I almost want to get the hard copy. I just may add it to my library of esoteric books.

The world has changed. Now, when someone is murdered, they almost always come back to life—and there are professionals, called “dispatchers”, who kill in order to save lives, to give those near the end a second chance. Tony Valdez is a dispatcher, and he has never been busier. But for as much as the world has changed, some things have stayed the same. Greed, corruption, and avarice are still in full swing.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Historia
Environmental devastation and economic chaos have turned America into a land of horrifying depravity. Assault, theft, sexual abuse, slavery, and murder are commonplace. And a zealous, bigoted tyrant has won his way into the White House. Directly opposed is Lauren Olamina, founder of Earthseed - a new faith that teaches "God Is Change". Persecuted for "heathen" beliefs as much as for having a Black female leader, Earthseed's followers face a life-and-death struggle to preserve their vision.

The story is phenomenal and echoes what many of us have wondered for a long time. her strength and refusal to give up, I've read them both, I'll be looking for more by Octavia Butler! what an unbelievable ability to paint like she did with the earth seed picture, the harsh reality and hope. outlining the tragic and epic failures of hate and fear, highlighting faith, effort, unbelievable courage under pressure and abuse. what a book, what a story

This forest isn't charted on any map. Every car breaks down at its treeline. Mina's is no different. Left stranded, she is forced into the dark woodland only to find a woman shouting, urging Mina to run to a concrete bunker. As the door slams behind her, the building is besieged by screams. Mina finds herself in a room with a wall of glass, and an electric light that activates at nightfall, when the watchers come above ground. These creatures emerge to observe their captive humans and terrible things happen to anyone who doesn't reach the bunker in time.

Historia
And So We Walked is a frank, heartwarming, and inspiring story about a contemporary Cherokee woman and her father who embark on an incredible 900-mile journey along the Trail of Tears to truly understand her own identity and the conflicts of her nation. The play recounts the six-week journey, which retraced the path her great-great-grandparents took in the 1830s during the forced relocation of 17,000 Cherokee from their homelands.

devastating, yet hopeful
Revisado: 12-28-24
I wasn't sure at first, but it did not take long. I can't say how many times I wept, even though as I write this feelings wash over and the tears well up. when I was a child I visited my uncle in tahlequah. I remember the lightning bugs. My great-grandmother is half Indian, I met her once... All of these memories came while listening to this. what I would like to say is how truly brave she must be for all of it, the experience of it, and then the retelling. beautiful, devastating and hopeful. thank you for sharing your experience 🧡
