The valley girl narration became annoying but the story started to grow and I was becoming more interested which brings me to the end.. WTH! I feel like I just watched a thriller and the power went out in the last 20 min. The ending left so much unanswered that I’m actually irritated now.

I had a love hate relationship with this book

I loved this book yet had visceral hate for one of the characters. It’s amazing how an author can really hit you in the feelings so much.

The devil hides in plain sight

Tragic and despicable. I felt intense anger and wished I could have been in this boys life to help him in the ways others failed. I would liked to have known more about any repercussions for the mother and father, if he has a relationship with his siblings etc. maybe these updates are in the other book. I just hate thinking he suffered like this and there was no justice for him. I pray to God above that should there ever be a child in a situation of abuse in my presence that I’m discerning enough to recognize it and stop it.

I loved this book so much, I was sucked into it and would even wake up from sleep thinking about it ruching to get back to it to see what was gonna happen next.

Perfect timing

I have been hoping to find a book that would include the things of now, this book was written well and referenced by scripture to back it up. I was a little surprised that Wikipedia was used as a research reference, I wouldn’t consider that a very reliable source for information but there was only one piece of content related to it.. I was also not overly impressed with the narration only bc as it was a virtual recording the pronunciation wasn’t accurate and often times it would run the ESV into the sentence. All that aside, well worth the listen/read! I even bookmarked pieces to go back and do over and have recommended it to others .

Captivating

This story just sucks you in! It has a lot of harsh/vulgar language that I wasn’t expecting and not overly interested in however it’s almost understandable in this story with this character and his upbringing. It was fascinating, tragic,sad and hilarious all at the same time.

Hard truths

The content is hard to hear bc it calls into question things that go against teachings you may have had your whole life. They are important however, bc who would choose denial when the stakes are so high? The narration was tough to get though, the voice was just so monotonous to listen to which is unfortunate when the content is so important.

Captivating from beginning to end

I absolutely loved this book and the narration was one of the best I’ve listened to! I am saddened by the fact that something like this could have and did happen and the corruption and cover up adds to the injustice of it all.
