Writing outside your depth
Revisado: 04-20-25
It’s seems like the author doesn’t know or forgets what kind of MC he wrote. One second he is a mega genius hacker that acts like life is too easy, the next he can’t remember something he was told 5 minutes ago or make obvious and simple connections like the reflection in the water is him. Pick a lane mojo.

Dross
Revisado: 04-20-25
Dross is an insanely annoying and distracting ahole. He is 10 times worse than Aythan but never really gets checked for it. I would love a version the abridges his dialogue to what’s necessary.
Linden also acted like a hypocritical ahole when it came to how he treated the black dragon later in the book. His justification countered so much of what he acted like he stood for to that point. Especially with how he brushed off what dross told him about it.
Then he brushes off what the enemy uncrowned did in the end. Everyone kind of did, given the light fallout.

A tournament approaches. All around the world, great clans and sects prepare their disciples to fight against one another in a competition of young Underlords. Even the Blackflame Empire is drawn in, but their youth are not strong enough to compete. Yet. To temper and test them, the Akura clan throws all the elites of the Blackflame Empire into a lush training ground. There, training will be much faster and more rewarding.

Dross
Revisado: 04-16-25
Dross is just annoying. His dialogue seems exclusively written to be annoying. I know he has a productive purpose but it’s like he is trying his hardest to be too annoying to be worth it. If about 80% of his dialogue was edited out, it’d be great and with no relevant content lost.
No one really calls people out for why they do. Like Charity pretending to be objective while acting like a cheap POS. Mercy could have at least.

Wtf
Revisado: 04-05-25
The BS Athan let the court put his team through. The entitled, hypocritical BS “the shield” was spewing. I lost a lot of respect for the entire court, including Ozreal. The whole thing seems so theatrical and self-important. Like a power trip that for a good reason to justify itself.

Jason had nothing. No hope, no joy, no purpose. An average person, in and out. One day, the world ended, or at least the world as he knew it previously. Blue screens appeared in front of everyone all of a sudden, heralding the arrival of the System on Earth. It gave everyone a chance to become something more. It also brought monsters and dungeons that threatened to destroy the remnants of society. Yet again, Jason had nothing. Due to unfortunate circumstances, he became a dismantler; scavenging corpses for cheap change. Dismantlers were no adventurers, and certainly not heroes that people ...

Hard to root for and listen too
Revisado: 03-22-25
Firstly, this is the WORST AI reading of any book I have ever heard. Probably the worst on audible, there doesn’t sound like ANY editing was done to correct the absurd number of mistakes.
Secondly, the MC is really hard to root for or identify with if your self esteem isn’t super low. Even then, you probably don’t have want to listen to an MC help people who treated him like trash, put him in debt, and got him killed. Or blame himself for surviving being betrayed. And having nightmares from blaming himself about the people who betrayed and abandoned him dying because the monster they pushed him towards chased them instead as they ran away.
And why didn’t he clear all of the dungeons first? Why choose to have a struggle you could avoid?
And the authors justification for having the MC reveraling secrets to someone who used and abandoned him in the first time line was just idiotic. How is them becoming more curious your problem?
How he spends his stat points is frustratingly ridiculous. He is a mage and there is ONE mage stat. He seems allergic to increasing it. He just increases endurance and justifies it because of one skill. There’s no hard or long fights for him, otherwise it’d be obvious how dumb it is to neglect the only stat your class requires. I think the author is handicapping him to make things harder later on. Or just doesn’t understand the mechanics of stat based progression fantasies/games/etc. I’m pretty sure this is mostly AI written because of this kind of issue and the weirdly inconsistent and at times exponential leveling speed and random exp assignment for monsters. I wish someone else had been handed this story to edit after why I assume is an AI wrote it.

Allen
Revisado: 03-19-25
He is a bit of a follower. Aurora decided he was useful and he just followed along. I wish the MC was a bit more socially aware of himself. He acts so lame sometimes for no reason. Eve should just be the MC. Allen is like acts like a middle schooler, especially in front of a pretty girl. And a straight-up idiot sometimes. Telling people his secrets and acting randomly trusting and helpful to the point of disarming himself to be trusted.

< [Necromancer - Level 1] > They were lying to us. The adventurer guild, the royals, the hexamists. All liars, Jay thought, trailing his finger over a skull. From the eye-sockets of an empty skull, a pair of floating beady eyes glanced up at him, waiting for his command. Jay pointed into the forest. “Hunt.” *** In a village blanketed in shadows, Jay seeks escape from his mundane life as a butcher. Desperate for adventure, he braves a treacherous path to the local Adventurer's Guild, hoping to discover his true calling. But fate intervenes, as it always does. With newfound abilities and ...

Basic math and slow ending
Revisado: 03-19-25
The author either doesn’t know how to or doesn’t care to do basic math. The MC would hunt for hours, killing hundreds of monsters gaining 15-30 exp from each and not have the required experience to level up(example is when he needed about less then 400 exp for level 4 and hunted for hours when it took less then a few minutes to get like 15-45 exp from a fight.)There’s also the weird and nonsensical use of horsepower as a gage for tremors of monsters. Like a rat monster anyone can kill would be worth well over 30 horsepower or something like that.
Mc has an hypocritical sense of justice.

Stupid plot armor and self-righteous
Revisado: 03-07-25
What happened to the gap on realms? How could someone so many stages higher even struggle that hard? Couldn’t they just flex their chi? They’re insanely experienced and the story up
till now kept discussing how much each realm gave you power. It just flipped the story to see so much of the built up story and context ignored for convenience. Why not just make them lower stages instead? Disappointing.
And it’s weird to talk about people you’re plotting against breaking your trust when you were clearly planning on doing the same. It’s delusional to feel some self-righteous anger about it. It’s necessary when Ashfallen does it, but nefarious when others do it to them?
Stella has kind become a annoying, thankless brat.
They also act like unstable sociopaths. It really shows with how Ash talks about the mudcloaks.

Historia
Ashlock wakes in the courtyard of a demonic sect... as a tree. A tree that eats people. An odd start to a new life. Almost as strange as the humans flying through the skies on flaming swords and challenging the heavens. After all, this is a world where humans could chase the goal of immortality through the art of cultivation. But Ashlock is merely a sapling in a desolate courtyard, left alone with his thoughts and unable to speak to those passing him by. Unless he does something about it.

Stella’s a selfish idiot
Revisado: 03-01-25
She makes excuses for interrupting and possibly disabling tree. It was selfish and justified by childish reasoning.
I get the world, but she enslaved a while family/clan. So it’s hard to see myself having sympathy for anything that happens to her. Since you could equally right it off as how that world is.

Historia
Even as the heroes of old return to the front stage as the world's adversary–as was foretold–the way forward is fraught with traps and machinations by those who seek to further their own objectives with no regard to the harm they bring upon the innocents. Meanwhile, the world is still afflicted by the ticking time bomb in the form of the Curse of Extinction that can extinguish the light of mankind all on its own, independent from even the mighty Calamities. But this seems to do little to unite the people in working together against the incoming crisis.

Stupid book and selective morality
Revisado: 03-01-25
Both of them randomly excuse people’s behavior while condemning others. Oh, it’s human nature. Oh, what a terrible person. One second it’s ‘Oh they massacred thousands of people for a petty reason? I’ll just pretend it didn’t happen.’ Then “ What an awful person, they drank a lot or killed a person.” It got irritating and happened on more than one level.
He also comes off as a complete simp for the human emperor. He just makes excuses for what they do and doesn’t act against them.
