An amazing story of the Love, Courage, And Loyalty!
Revisado: 10-31-22
I love reading about the courageous women who helped to change the course of WWII. Especially when they are true stories about real people.
This story keeps the listener engaged. She sacrificed SO MUCH to aide/lead the Resistance. One amazing fact is that her husband’s love and support enabled her to fight with the Resistance.
It was a True and Great Love, This story made laugh but also cry.
A Must Read!!!

Historia
In Deep Hole, one of the world’s foremost crime novelists crafts a sweet, poignant romance novella that could only come from his perfectly calibrated sense of time and place. It incorporates fights and misunderstandings and rejection, and is set against the backdrop of a quiet surfing town in Rhode Island where everyone knows each other’s business—and pleasure.

Good Short Story

A Mafioso Uncle, his young nephew and his gambling friend who start out clueless and too dumb for their own good.
But they seem to mature, and have successful businesses and lives.
A bit Humorous.
A good listen if you have an hour or so.
(I listened to, from and in waiting room for a Doctor Appointment, I received looks from peeps in waiting room when I laughed out loud)

Wonderfully Written. A Journey through India’s historical Royal Court.
Revisado: 06-24-22
This sequel to The Twentieth Wife is full of factual content in the life and abiding love of an Emperor and his Twentieth Empress.
Full of heartbreak, betrayals, greed and the machinations among his harem, heirs, family, friends and the Nobility in is his court.
I had to concentrate to follow but well worth it.
The narrator’s performance was Great!

Good, Emotional Tear Jerker!!!
Revisado: 06-11-22
I gave this rating because it was well written and well read. A tale of Love, Betrayal, Sacrifice, Selfishness And Unselfishness.
Emotions that can bring out the worst and best of people.
I know it is a fictional book, but,,,,,
A couple of the Charaters I would’ve liked to smack upside the head and others I just weeped for.

Historia
Four days before Christmas in 1943, a badly damaged American bomber struggled to fly over wartime Germany. At its controls was a 21-year-old pilot. Half his crew lay wounded or dead. It was their first mission. Suddenly a sleek, dark shape pulled up on the bomber’s tail - a German Messerschmitt fighter. Worse, the German pilot was an ace, a man able to destroy the American bomber with the squeeze of a trigger.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!
It was sad at times, but a really good story!
Initially when speaking as the young girls, the narrator's voice seemed a bit shrill.
Once I got through that I felt Charlie Sanderson
did a fantastic Job in narration!

Good, Serious Story With Laugh Out Loud Humor!
Revisado: 03-18-22
First of all Julia Whelan gave an outstanding performance in narrating this book!!!
It was a heart rendering story of actual prejudices that were and possibly still are practiced in some parts of our country, of Love, Friendships and Standing Up for one's self and those you love, combined with a bit of humor mixed in.
I Do Recommend Thus Book!

Good Read. A Bit of a Tear Jerker
Revisado: 02-21-22
I really enjoy reading books from this author and narrator!
A story of a how people allow hurt and fear lead to heartbreaking choices.
Sometimes I was frustrated with one or another of the characters, and sometimes I hurt for her.
Then I cried.
I couldn't stop listening to this book.

Historia
Memories are the ultimate contradiction. They can warm us on our coldest days - or they can freeze a loved one out of our lives forever. The McCarthy family has a trove of warm memories. Of innocent first kisses. Of sumptuous family meals. Of wondrous lessons learned at the foot of a rocking chair. But they also have had their share of icy ones. Of words that can never be unsaid. Of choices that can never be unmade. Of actions that can never be undone.

Best Book I've Read/Listened to in a Long Time!!
Revisado: 02-09-22
This was an Amazing Story.
A portrait of families the world over.
I had this long review, but I wasn't doing this book justice. Suffice it to say I believe you'll truly enjoy it!
It seemed to start slow, but I understand what the narrator was doing. So you might want to speed it up in the beginning.
A bit of a tear jerker. It's Worth it!!!!

A Story of Life, Love, Betrayal, Heartbreak and Forgiveness.
Revisado: 01-15-22
I chose this rating because I felt that overall it was a good listen! Would've been a good read if id chosen that option.
I gave the story a lower rating because I guessed a couple scenarios before hearing, but there were a couple surprises too, so maybe they should offset one another.
The performance was really good!
Narrator did great job of relaying emotions of each character.
I recommend this book!
