Love this classic story, so well written.

The narrator is very good; except she pronounce Avonlea, as (ph)
a von LEA - not at all how it is ever pronounced in the movies, where the emphasis is always on the first syllable. That is a bit distracting; but otherwise very well done.

Historia
Assisting an overwhelmed insurance appraiser with the inventory, Addie discovers an 1887 magazine containing Arthur Conan Doyle's first Sherlock Holmes novel, A Study in Scarlet, which she estimates to be worth over $150,000. But when Addie later finds the appraiser dead in the estate's private library, with the door bolted from the inside, and the priceless edition missing, it's a mystery worthy of the Great Detective himself. She's certain the death and the robbery are connected - but who, other than a ghost who can walk through walls, could have gotten in to do the deed?

Just okay
Revisado: 11-12-24
Unfortunately, what stood out the most to me, is the indecisive, flighty presentation of the lead character. Particularly, the wishy-washy back&forth between what man she’ll stick with. Her decisiveness only shows up when she’s heading herself headlong into danger and won’t listen to anyone’s advice.
At least by the book’s end, it seems like the man conflict has ended. Don’t think I could take another round of that. Will probably try one more in the series, but hope it gets better. Also, the narrator speaks in elevated tones much of the time, so keep the volume lower.

Good story ~ Awful narration
Revisado: 04-08-24
The author has created good stories with an interesting and clever lead character who isn’t all emotional and falling for a man every five seconds. I like her! But the virtual voice narration is terrible. Basically “I’m so excited!” & “What’s for dinner?”& “The End” all sounds the same. It’s too bad, because the books are good stories and deserve a better narration.
