Revisado: 07-14-24
great read. the narrator is fantastic. it's amazing how this was published late 1800s (I think) but really could be a modern day book. highly recommend.

interesting subject
Revisado: 03-09-24
It is an interesting book but gets repetitive. I was hoping for more information about the research but you get more stories and explanations. It is very interesting but by the end I felt like the book could have been 2 hours shorter and not lost anything. still would recommend.

Great listen, doesn't feel like it's 8.5 hours
Revisado: 03-01-24
This is more listening to a conversation than listening to a book. Very interesting, didn't feel like it was 8.5 hours. I would say my only criticism is more on myself. I wish I would have read some kind of book on Tibetan Buddhism so I would understand the Dalai Lama's references more. But the book did a good job of explaining concepts before you would listen to sections where that concept was mentioned.
If you like listening to interesting conversations than this is a great book. I really liked it. Didn't feel like a lecture. It wasn't a recruiting tool for science or Buddhism. Just two very smart people discussing an interesting topic on Emotions and Emotional Awareness.

great book. narrator is good most of the time
Revisado: 02-02-24
loved the book. the narrator is good but had the bad habit of referring to himself as "moi" which he sounds amused but it comes off annoying. he also pronounces WH like Stewie from Family Guy. outside of that great book and I love how he tells you the books he is taking from and suggests similar books. my book list has grown a ton thanks to this book.

Historia
In this “vital, necessary, and beautiful book” (Michael Eric Dyson), antiracist educator Robin DiAngelo deftly illuminates the phenomenon of white fragility and “allows us to understand racism as a practice not restricted to 'bad people'" (Claudia Rankine). Referring to the defensive moves white people make when challenged racially, white fragility is characterized by emotions such as anger, fear, and guilt and by behaviors including argumentation and silence. These behaviors, in turn, function to reinstate white racial equilibrium and prevent meaningful cross-racial dialogue.

Just imagine that they somehow get together and have a love child thats a 6 or 7. That bastard child would be Yancy Lazarus.

I really enjoyed this book. Very informative.
Revisado: 10-11-18
Speaker is easy to listen to. The subjects are interesting and explained well. each section is short enough that you don't feel overwhelmed but long enough that you end it feeling informed. This is a great book to introduce you, or refresh you, on a lot of subjects.
In my opinion this is a great way to get your foot in the door on a lot of subjects that you may want to dive deeper on later.
All people should listen to the sections on fallacies, arguing from ignorance, what is goid and what is baf resesrch, and basing your argument on limited info while ignoring the other sides information.

Good. Not Bad. Not Great.
Revisado: 08-02-18
I found this book interesting and the naration was good.
The best way I can describe it is this. Have you ever written a really good paper? One you know hits all the marks and is gonna get you a high grade? Have you then looked and realized you missed the page/word count requirement? So you then have to go back and add a bunch of fluff that gets you there but kind of now makes your great paper repetitive. that is how you will feel about hearing the words "people, places, and things" or "zero. sum. game.". There are times it makes valid and perfect sense, and then times you feel like it was a "I can throw that phrase in here for word count" moment.
Still overall I enjoyed it.

Historia
The tipping point is that magic moment when an idea, trend, or social behavior crosses a threshold, tips, and spreads like wildfire. Just as a single sick person can start an epidemic of the flu, so too can a small but precisely targeted push cause a fashion trend, the popularity of a new product, or a drop in the crime rate. This widely acclaimed bestseller, in which Malcolm Gladwell explores and brilliantly illuminates the tipping point phenomenon, is already changing the way people throughout the world think about selling products and disseminating ideas.

Interesting and worth a listen.
Revisado: 05-24-18
This book is worth the listen. It is not nearly as dry as similiar themed books. I enjoyed that all the things were being taught with real world examples instead of just case study references.
