Historia
By the author of Legionnaire, the epic new military fantasy continues: Duke Maldon may have suffered the shame of seeing his family's heresy exposed, but that doesn’t mean that the duke and his kin are out of the fight. Launching their most insidious scheme yet, they succeed in transforming a victory celebration uniting the duchy’s leading families into a bloody battlefield that ignites a civil war. And with the great families of Winterhaven doing their best to kill each other, no one seems to notice the far greater dangers arising on the border, threatening to overrun them all. No one,...

Historia
The Reaper is a legend, more myth than man: the savior of worlds, the leader of the Rising, the breaker of chains. But the Reaper is also Darrow, born of the red soil of Mars: a husband, a father, a friend. The worlds once needed the Reaper. But now they need Darrow. Because after the dark age will come a new age: of light, of victory, of hope.

Great set up for the finale
Revisado: 08-16-23
I know a-lot of complaints are on here because of the change to the narration structure but I personally prefer having one narrator. The audio quality at times was not great though, perhaps just studio issues with the recordings. The story is fantastic and a great set up for 'Red God'. It isn't as dark as 'Dark Age' was but still has very adult themes and visceral combat and killing. I throughly enjoyed this novel and will continue to read anything Brown writes.

They Never See You Coming Do They?
Revisado: 11-24-22
This is perhaps the best novella/short story book I've ever read. I have read/listened to it five or six times now. Lehane has an ability to write such realistic and lovable characters. He also write characters you want to see killed, needless to say he write characters very well. Im a huge fan of this book and think anyone who likes any crime or suspense stories will love this.

Hitting its stride
Revisado: 11-24-22
I didn't really enjoy Eye of the World and it took me awhile to start the series again. The Great Hunt was a great adventure novel but the Dragon Reborn is a great epic fantasy that you can see that Jordan was hitting his stride. Highly recommended.

Solid Follow up
Revisado: 11-24-22
As a huge fan of the 1995 film Heat I was shocked when I heard they were releasing a sequel/prequel book to the film. The time jumps are done well and the characters come off exactly like they did in the film. I'm a huge fan of this novel. Will listen to it again for sure.

I don’t understand why this exist.
Revisado: 07-29-22
I’ll start with the narration and tell you that it’s good and doesn’t take you out of the story whatsoever. The story on the other hand is pointless, I had to go back to a few chapters because I realized I couldn’t remember anything from that chapter just to realize that nothing happened of any importance in that chapter. The first five hours of the book isn’t world building or even great character building, it’s just fluff that means nothing. I don’t know who this book is written for because the Doctor Moreau stuff feels pointless and any fans of the original H.G Wells books will certainly not like this book. It’s a mediocre love story shoehorned into a less interesting Island of Dr Moreau. Stay clear unless you just really love this authors work and want to support her. I returned the book because it wasn’t worth the credit I used on it.
Short Version- pointless story that goes no where and wastes the entire Island of Doctor Moreau premise.

Now that belief will be tested in the crucible of revolution: The Breakers and Burners have seized the levers of power, the smoke of riots has replaced the smog of industry, and all must submit to the wisdom of crowds. Just never liked the new characters
Revisado: 10-26-21
I love Abercrombie and his style, but I just never cared for the new POV characters in this trilogy and by the end of this book I was hoping they would all die. I like flawed characters but I felt like most of the characters in this trilogy were barely likable at best.
