Excellent narration and production 👏🏾 This story is a slow build where you will wonder what is true and who to believe. Loved the twists and turns. Kept me on my toes.

Historia
Eric Jerome Dickey strides boldly over the minefield that is modern marriage. The central couple's biggest challenge is timing: He works days; she works nights. Instead of growing together, they're rapidly drifting apart, coexisting on stolen phone calls from work, punctuated by occasional bedroom encounters that leave them both feeling even emptier and more alone. When she finds out about his affair - and starts her own - the delicate fabric of their marriage is torn irrevocably asunder. Or is it?

Entertaining yet Predictable

Enjoyed the story but pretty predictable. Domestic cheater type novel. Narration was pretty good and added to the story. Will try another from this author.

Hen and her husband, Lloyd, have settled into a quiet life in a new house outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Hen (short for Henrietta) is an illustrator and works out of a studio nearby and has found the right meds to control her bipolar disorder. Finally, she’s found some stability and peace. But when they meet the neighbors next door, that calm begins to erode as she spots a familiar object displayed on the husband’s office shelf. The sports trophy looks exactly like one that went missing from the home of a young man who was killed two years ago.

So enjoyable and twisty!
Revisado: 12-04-19
This story is incredibly twisty! You think you know but then you don't know for sure. All of sudden you get a twist you didn't see coming. Really love this author and the narration was really good. The beginning may lag a bit for those that want action right away but this one is psychological so you have to know the characters well in order to really feel the fear and confusion they feel. Loved it!

I loved the action in this story! You don't quite know which way is up or who to trust even though you know something nefarious is going down. Still love Court Gentry "The Gray Man" for his attitude, skills and heart.

Historia
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

Heartfelt Story
Revisado: 08-24-19
Wow. This story really opened me up to some emotions! I shed a tear for Kya as she was abandoned by her family to live in a marsh, full of mystery and intrigue and undoubtedly danger. I smiled as she gained friends that were more like family in Jumpin and his wife (and even their church members) albeit the 60s were a time of great division and social unrest between black and white people. The bond of being poor was one that threaded many families together during that time. I thought the author, Delia Owens, did a great job of sketchy what the times were like outside the marsh and around the world through subtle social interactions in the story. I felt Kya's pain and hurt but also her triumphs. The readers see her grow into a smart, talented and articulate woman against all the odds thrown at her but her levels of mistrust were just as deep as an wound could be. Her abandonment issues were the catalyst to her subsequently losing sight of what love was and fearing closeness with anyone. The story of Kya growing up in the marsh is the story told in the background of an investigation into Chase Andrews, the town football player and womanizer, found dead in the marsh. While the town who looks down upon Kya due to her poor and crude lifestyle, condemn her to being a murderer, it allows a mirror to be cast on the town, her upbringing and also of what true love really is. A beautiful story with a satisfying triumphant ending. Highly recommended for readers who enjoy slow paced, heartfelt stories that make you want to smile and cry. The narrator of the audiobook was especially skilled in creating Southern voices that create pictures of who each townsperson is and what they would ultimately look like in our minds eye. Well done.

Historia
Evidence is mounting that someone high up in the CIA is doing the unthinkable - passing messages to ISIS, alerting them to planned operations. Finding out the mole's identity without alerting him, however, will be very hard, and to accomplish it Wells will have to do something he thought he'd left behind forever. He will have to reassume his former identity as an al Qaeda jihadi, get captured, and go undercover to befriend an ISIS prisoner in a secret Bulgarian prison.

Solid Listen
Revisado: 11-26-18
Rated a solid 4 stars! This was my first Berenson novel and I doubt it'll be my last. I listened to this book on a 16 hour trip and found it to be a slow starter but definitely intriguing once it got going. It lacked the continuous action that I typically look for in these types of stories but when it did have action...it was spot on! The writing is heavy in facts that may or may not be meaningless. You'll get all the background on certain historical sites and atmospheric tone but feelings are not easily given in this story for the main character. The story follows a man, a hired assassin, who helps his old team find out who a mole is inside the federal government. The jihad-symapthizer is very clever throughout the story in making sure he isn't caught but in the end, the reveal and the "takedown" did little to satisfy the reader. The in-between seemed to be the most interesting...the jail fights and takedowns were the most exciting while the fact finding and posturing was a little meh for those who like typical spy/espionage thrillers. The pace while moderate was sufficient and in the end, I finished feeling good about it, but went straight into the next book on my list without much of a pondering.
Recommended for those that enjoy the slow whodunit with a backdrop of spy work.
