I use this every week
Revisado: 06-25-23
I have done yoga for years so am familiar with terms and poses. If you are a beginner I strongly suggest using visual programs until you are familiar with the yoga process and terminology.
If you only have 15 minutes or 39 minutes, need to ease in gradually or wind down, or want to break a little sweat, there is a flow for you. Easy access to yoga right through my phone. I use this every week; if there is ever a volume 2 of yoga flow I would happily add it to my collection.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Good flow and timing
Revisado: 05-23-19
Many of these yoga flows are rushed, as if the teacher was reading the script but not doing the poses. I have to play them at reduced speed just to keep up with the moves, let alone breath through them properly. This was a much more natural pace. The vinyasa flowed nicely and were not stilted. I wish Mary Beth has more than just the one morning flow in this series.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

After seeing the Martian when it came out, I finally decided to read the book.
Brilliant plot, authentic internal and external dialogues, and an insane gift of being able to describe complex tech in a way that compels the reader to learn more
I finished Martian and was sad it was done, so I looked to see what else he’d written. I landed with Artemus.
Completely separate story line, but by chapter 2 Andy had me in Artemis, and I couldn’t leave until it was done, too, soon,

A masters creation, narrated by a master
Revisado: 04-09-17
Conan Doyle's masterpiece has been worth every re-read. Stephen Fry's narration is gripping, delightful, and an incredible contribution to our favourite Holmes (and Watson) tales.
Whether you've read them multiple times, or perused just one or two, Fry delivers a performance worthy of the master, and one I'll return to again and again.
His introductions provide an insightful context to Doyle's classics, underscoring the enduring character's relevance evidenced by the popular portrayals in a continuous stream of films and the BBC's recent modern treatment.
A ride worth every farthing paid.

Sci-fi Thriller par Excellence
Revisado: 08-07-16
Undergrad prof, artist mom, and 15 year old son. Normal family. Extra-normal tale. Shroedinger's cat as thriller motif and lives irretrievably altered. Part SciFi, part horror, all thriller.
Aside from a 'small' violation of energy's conservation theorem, an engrossing and sometimes disturbing tale. If you have an adverse reaction to adrenaline, this story is not for you. Otherwise, buckle up!

Terrorism in Europe has spun out of control. The United States has decided on a dramatic response. Now, the CIA needs a very special kind of operative. Scot Harvath has exactly the skills the CIA is looking for. He's a former U.S. Navy SEAL with extensive experience in espionage. Working for a private intelligence company, he will provide the CIA, and more important, the President, with absolute deniability.

Tried twice, couldn't finish it
Revisado: 07-29-16
Foreign Agent might be a brilliant tale, though il never node unless I read it myself.
I tried twice to get past the narration and failed both times. The vocalization of the various characters is troublesome. The main character sounds like a 12 year old trying to sound like an adult. With the exception of some passable French, the balance of the characterization sounds forced an unnatural. None of this might bother you, but it was insurmountable for me.
Good luck!

Contrived and Unbelievable at Every Level
Revisado: 07-28-16
Dead Even left me with a feeling of Dead
Loss. The story introduces the reader to Sarah and Jarrod,, one a defense lawyer, the other starting a new career as an assistant district attorney. Of course they are married, to each. Recipe for conflict, I'm thinking 'Great! Buckle up!'
I found myself continuously distracted by irrational dialog and characters inexplicably angry, then depressed, then confident, then happy. I can't imagine Sarah getting and keeping a job at a Walmart, let alone prosecuting petty felons.
With all due respect to the author, save your money, unless you're a fan of Scott Brick's narration, in which case there are many, many better examples than Dead Even.

Historia
Arthur Dent's accidental association with that wholly remarkable book, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, has not been entirely without incident.Arthur has traveled the length, breadth, and depth of known, and unknown, space. He has stumbled forward and backward through time. He has been blown up, reassembled, cruelly imprisoned, horribly released, and colorfully insulted more than is strictly necessary.

A brilliant ending.
Revisado: 04-09-16
The ending, half dozing as I was, left me with a hopeful sense of a new beginning in my own life. Brilliant.
The beginning, meeting Arthur, Trillion, and Ford in their middle age reminded how young we were at the first reading of The first book of Douglass Adams trilogy.
It was the fiddly bits around the middle that gave me trouble, or maybe it was the organic butter spread I had on my toast at lunch. In either event, Zaephod had either mellowed with age, or had lost his Beebelbroxian arrogance with the externalization of one of his formerly bi-cranial heads. But perhaps I give too much away.
As the fourth book of the original trilogy lost some of the first threes poignancy, so this, in the middle spaces, seems to lose the point.
But maybe that is the point, and why we love Adams creations, even when told through the eyes of an avid devote.
We've listened to the original BBC broadcasts of the trilogy enumerable times in the past 30 years. I think we'll do so again, shortly.

Historia
George Orwell depicts a gray, totalitarian world dominated by Big Brother and its vast network of agents, including the Thought Police - a world in which news is manufactured according to the authorities' will and people live tepid lives by rote. Winston Smith, a hero with no heroic qualities, longs only for truth and decency. But living in a social system in which privacy does not exist and where those with unorthodox ideas are brainwashed or put to death, he knows there is no hope for him.

Relevant today, if buried in a dystopian tale.
Revisado: 02-19-16
Key passages, especially in the latter chapters, expound issues about state power and control which directly relate to current social discourse. Notably, privacy vs the primacy of the state.
Oft discounted as 'dystopian literature,' Orwell nonetheless explores the issue of State power and its devices, that vary by degrees, not intent or operation, today.
In a world of NSA surveillance of US Citizens, and Federal demands to enable surveillance via personal communication device; in one where a major television manufacturer warns users not to to discuss private matters in front of their product because it's audio is streamed back to them; how long before the 'hyperbole' of 1984 becomes the reality of today?
Read it and decide.
Simon Prebles performance is as always, stellar.
