Ever feel like it's easier to believe we'll meet God in the afterlife than it is to feel God at work in this life, with its chores and schedules and messes and unrealized dreams? The truth is, God is at work every day of our lives, but because this work is quieter than we expect, we so often dismiss it as coincidence or chance. What if we could clearly understand those divine whispers? What if listening to them is the beginning of living out our truest story and purpose? In Trust the Whisper, Kathy Izard shares compelling true stories that help you connect the "God Dots" in your life.

Historia
There is a major shift happening in western society where people are beginning to question the sociopolitical system and the social norms to which they are accustomed. People, particularly men, are beginning to realize they live in a system that is unfair and unjust while at the same time requiring them to keep the infrastructure of society running. As a result, some men become ostracized and shunned from their friends, family, coworkers, and other associates because of the inconvenient truths they've become aware of and their decision to change their lifestyle. However, most men have no ...

A young woman ranting
Revisado: 08-28-24
SHE is venting. She had some interesting things to say, but she is all over the board. I got tired of listening to her rant. These are all her opinions and not much to back up what she says.
She is a female misogynist, with communistic and socialistic views, then trying to parallel them with
feel good psychology.
When an author has to use swear words and crude words their vocabulary is limited .Don’t waste your time with this author.
Ps. Joe, the philosopher and the male virtual voice should be a tipoff not to listen to this book. If you can’t sign your name to something don’t be anonymous and don’t publish it.

Historia
Honest and unflinching, Without Buddha I Could Not Be a Christian narrates each spiritual dilemma that Knitter has struggled with and explains how a Buddhist worldview has allowed him to resolve each one. From the "petitioning" nature of Christian prayer to how Christianity views life after death, Knitter argues that a Buddhist standpoint can help inspire a more person-centered conception of Christianity, where individual religious experience comes first, and liturgy and tradition second.

I truly want to read this book and believe the content is superb. But I am not a theologian nor am I a Buddhist. So after a while I feel like it talks in circles. Please come out with this book Buddha made me a better Christian for dummies. I’m not being funny.

His books have sold millions and include classics like Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Yet C. S. Lewis was not always a literary giant of Christian faith. How did he evolve from staunch atheism to become one of the most beloved and renowned Christian authors of our time?

I think this would be a great Bible study or book club ,going into his writings previously and during his Christian journey. It may be dry at times but you have to keep listening because there’s so much in there. Well worth my time

Historia
As the old sailor's adage goes, a woman on board invites bad luck, a superstation that turned out to be true for the enemies of notorious pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read. As quick to draw their cutlasses as they were to fall in love, Anne and Mary sailed the Caribbean leaving a trail of looted treasure, outfoxed law enforcement, and treacherous ex-lovers (suitably dealt with) in their wake. This series explores themes of equality, freedom, love and survival.

Historia
Shetty grew up in a family where you could become one of three things—a doctor, a lawyer, or a failure. His family was convinced he had chosen option three: Instead of attending his college graduation ceremony, he headed to India to become a monk, to meditate every day for four to eight hours, and devote his life to helping others. After three years, one of his teachers told him that he would have more impact on the world if he left the monk’s path to share his experience and wisdom with others.

Historia
For centuries, the vineyards at Château Renard have depended on the talent of their vine witches, whose spells help create the world-renowned wine of the Chanceaux Valley. Then the skill of divining harvests fell into ruin when sorcière Elena Boureanu was blindsided by a curse. Now, after breaking the spell that confined her to the shallows of a marshland and weakened her magic, Elena is struggling to return to her former life. And the vineyard she was destined to inherit is now in the possession of a handsome stranger.

Historia
By August 1968, the American space program was in danger of failing in its two most important objectives: to land a man on the moon by President Kennedy's end-of-decade deadline and to triumph over the Soviets in space. With its back against the wall, NASA made an almost unimaginable leap: It would scrap its usual methodical approach and risk everything on a sudden launch, sending the first men in history to the moon - in just four months.

Historia
In 1960, Ishmael Reed, then an aspiring young writer, interviewed Malcolm X for a local radio station in Buffalo, and the encounter cost Reed his job and changed his life. In Malcolm and Me, Reed, the author of such classic novels as Mumbo Jumbo and the winner of a MacArthur “Genius” Fellowship, reveals a side of Malcolm X the public has never seen before, and explores how the civil rights firebrand influenced his own views on working and living and speaking out, and left a mark on generations of artists and activists.
