Historia
Two-thirds of us have experienced at least one adverse childhood experience, or ACE, such as abuse, neglect, parental substance dependence, or mental illness. Even though these events may have occurred long ago, they have the power to haunt us long into adulthood, and now we have found that they may even contribute to lifelong illness. Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, the founder/CEO of the Center for Youth Wellness and recipient of the Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award, expands on similar topics as in her popular TED talk.

The information presented in this book is incredible and I’ll be digesting it for some time, relating it back to my parenting, recovery for family and clients.

Historia
Anyone caring for girls today knows that our daughters, students, and girls next door are more anxious and more prone to depression and self-harming than ever before. The question that no one has yet been able to credibly answer is Why? Now we have answers. As award-winning writer Donna Jackson Nakazawa deftly explains in Girls on the Brink, new findings reveal that the crisis facing today’s girls is a biologically rooted phenomenon: the earlier onset of puberty mixes badly with the unchecked bloom of social media and cultural misogyny.

Wonderful information
Revisado: 03-15-24
This was such a helpful book, with insight to understand some things you was ignorant about, in regards to my own upcoming young adult, daughter. At times, it was unnerving but always informative with many resources of where to go next, in terms of our behaviors as a society and a mom.

Historia
In Eastern Body, Western Mind, chakra authority Anodea Judith has brought a fresh approach to the yoga-based Eastern chakra system, adapting it to the Western framework of Jungian psychology, somatic therapy, childhood developmental theory, and metaphysics. Illuminated with personal anecdotes and case studies, Eastern Body, Western Mind seamlessly merges the East and West, science and philosophy, and psychology and spirituality into a compelling interpretation of the chakra system and its relevance for Westerners today.

Amazing explanation of the Soma
Revisado: 02-04-20
In Judith’s book, the world of psychology, Eastern philosophy and western medicine are explained in a way that brings it together beautifully. The timeliness of this book is incredible!
