Over the top politics!!

I like the books, and I get most of them from Amazon Plus, so it doesn't cost me any credits.

The problem I have with CJ Box is he over does it with his conservative politics. It ok with a little of it, but he piles it on. Books shouldn't be Fox News vs MSNBC (I don't listen to either one of them). We are all too divided as it is, and I don't want to listen to books that makes me feel even more so.

He would be a great propagandist of the Chinese government, making our government the people's enemy. I have a real problem with people trying to make money by dividing us even further.

Fairy tale....Complete BS

No Air Force....except 3 or 4 helicopters no one lives in Germany to see a tank force racing through it including police cars on main highways everyone was asleep!! No governments or TV reporter!!

Worth the credit

Like some other reviewers I thought it started slow (first 2 hrs out of the 23+ long story) but once I passed that point I liked it. If I had to order it again I would.

Left Hanging Ending

Good addition to the series but a left hanging ending, it felt incomplete, they should have wrapped it up better.

Book I like it

I like this book and I recommend it! I am now starting book 6 which I got from my library so I can't review it individually on Audible and I just started it but I warn you that the constant change of narrators is really painful especially in book 6. Make sure you read the reviews book 6.

A great book for both Women and Men

What made the experience of listening to Leftover in China the most enjoyable?

Listing to the story's about what the young woman and men of China are going though was very insightful...I kept on wanting to hear more!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Leftover in China?

My girl friend is Chinese and I am 2nd generation American Italian (in that order) she has been in the US for 27 years and we are both older. Her sibling, lives in China and has one child, a daughter, who exactly fits the description of the woman described in this book. She speaks passable English, very intelligent, ambitious, beautiful, well connected family, 28 years old and no boy friend. I think of myself as very knowledgeable but I was so wrong thinking that it would be like shooting fish in a barrel for her to find a mate in China until I heard Roseann Lake's words and what she had to say about her situation!

Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to pick one....it was like eves dropping on woman talking about relationships and how to deal with men (alway fun to hear)....it's no secret that when it comes to woman men for the most part are just plan stupid!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes it made me laugh more then once!! When I think of the miscalculations of the leaders in China and other places who over reacted to the birth rate, well intentioned men who really hurt a lot of men and women. Physically and mentally, that is quite sad, as a father of a married daughter of this age my heart goes out to these families!

This book needs to be translated into Mandarin!

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I'm a guy maybe woman might have a slightly better option of it.

What could Eric Flint and Virginia DeMarce have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Since this is the first one the I am aware of that Ms. DeMarce was involved with she would be the best one to answer that question, it seemed disjointed and the whole thing about the Ram play was just a waste of time.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

George Guidall as usual was great but no character stood out and that I felt was one of its problems.

What character would you cut from 1634: The Ram Rebellion?

Not character but most of the silly things in the early chapters about the Ram

Yes. I feel he was a victim of a poorly written story!

This book was a big disappointment, it came across as a talk show with a touch of documentary and never seemed to get off the grownd.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Elizabeth....the City!!!

What does Kathleen McInerney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked her tone....I thought she brought the characters to life!

If you could rename In the Unlikely Event, what would you call it?

Elizabeth....in the shadows of tragedy!!

I was born in Elizabeth almost five years after the author and my baby sitter brought me and her son to the 1st cash site....it is one of my earliest memory's and I can truly understand how it impacted the author. Hearing about the place where I lived until I was 11 was pleasant and sad at the same time but I am glad I listened to it. Thank you Judy Blume!!!
