This book blends all the things I love in a romance: a capable heroine, an alpha hero, intrigue, suspense, satisfying character arcs, and a little bit of spice. I loved this audiobook so much that I listened to it again immediately because nothing else in my library would have filled the void.

My only critique is that those who are true fans of dark romance might not find this dark enough. It fits the enemies-to-lovers trope and the mafia romance theme, but there aren't any 'dark' elements aside from the expected levels of violence in a mafia romance. It's still a great romance novel, though!

The narrator is perfect for the role, too.

I highly recommend this audiobook to those who enjoy enemies-to-lovers stories and mafia romance in general.

I listened to this with a preschooler who loved the story. They laughed and chimed in when fruits and vegetables were mentioned. I got the book to help keep them excited about gardening this summer. Considering they asked to listen to it again immediately, I consider it a success!

I loved that the story was written in rhyme with careful attention to meter as well. There were a couple spots the rhythm was thrown off, but overall it was like listening to a lovely poem about family, teamwork, and gardening.

I highly recommend this adorable children’s story for toddlers or preschoolers interested in gardening or talking about gardening.

I’m listening to this series out of order, and I have completely fallen for the world-building and character development. Kat Kinney’s writing style is highly visual and emotionally immersive. I highly recommend this audiobook and series to fans of paranormal romance with complex plots.

The story itself is an interesting paranormal romance. The plot is unique, and Finn and Olivia are both likable characters. Their romantic journey is so unusual, even in the paranormal romance sub-genre. This book ends in a cliffhanger, but it’s beautiful in its own way. It didn’t leave me with that frustrated feeling that some do.

The narration is difficult in the beginning because it’s so overdone. After the first few chapters, it improves. I look forward to listening to more by this narrator as her career evolves. She has an amazing voice and clear talent—enough that she could easily become one of those narrators with their own following.

I recommend this audiobook to paranormal romance fans who are able to listen through a few rough chapters for the sake of a great story.

Magickal Trouble starts a bit slow, with much of the first several chapters being about the family dynamics as they impact Bruce and the lead-up to the romantic storyline. If you already love the MacGregor family, it’s still entertaining. It’s worth the wait to get to Bruce and Elodie’s romantic journey. Theirs is one of my favorite love stories in the series. Elodie offers an unexpected twist that I didn’t see coming, which is rare.

I recommend this book (and the entire series) to those who enjoy paranormal romance and exceptional narration.

The Billionaire's Protection is another enjoyable book in The Possessive Billionaire series. This audiobook has some spicy scenes (typical levels for the romance genre) but is mostly a sweet, heartwarming listen. This is my second time listening to an Ashley Sands book, and both books had an easy-breezy feel that made for a delightful and addictive listening experience.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy billionaire romance reads or the step-sibling love interest trope. I generally only tolerate the step-sibling trope, but it worked here.

This is a cute story with a difficult ending that is helpful for discussing the reasons and consequences of war. I was surprised by the ending, but that makes it stand out from other children's books.

The narration was excellent, and the sound effects helped keep my young listener engaged in the story.

I highly recommend this book to caregivers looking for a story to help them discuss war with young readers. This is not a book to let a child listen to without having a conversation afterward.

The premise of the forced proximity was initially difficult for me to buy into. It just seemed like too much of a stretch for my history-loving mind to accept—but I'm glad I stuck with it! (Romance readers, unless you only read this sub-genre, you've probably had to suspend disbelief for far less probable scenarios.) Au Revoir, My Duke is a lovely book with just enough of a slow burn to leave you satisfied with the ending.

The narration is excellent—everything I could want in a Regency romance. Charlie Albers has the perfect voice for Charlotte yet manages to perform the other characters beautifully, giving them their own voices and dialects.

A lovely, fun listen

Kisses and Curses moves a bit slower than other books in this series because there was a lot to account for in the plot, what with Euann and Cora's love story and the impact of Kenneth and Jewel's appearance. It's still an enjoyable listen but has a slightly different feel. As always, Michelle M. Pillow delivers more in this audiobook than some other authors are only able to accomplish in twice or thrice the book length. Her writing style is visual and fun and checks all the boxes for paranormal romance reads, so I don't mind this being a shorter novel (note: it's not a novella!).

Euann and Cora were both loveable characters—very easy to root for. The MacGregors were just as wild as usual and made for a hilariously cringe-worthy courtship.

Michael Farraiuolo's voice acting is spectacular, as always. The way he shifts between accents and dialects, moods, and genders is nothing short of artistry.

I recommend this book to those who enjoy paranormal romance read by a narrator with agile, unique voice acting skills.

Another cute story about sharing

This audiobook isn't just about sharing. It also includes lessons on safety and kindness. Mordokai Searches for Strawberries is a longer story (8 minutes) than many of the other books by this father-daughter duo. For that reason and perhaps because of the additional characters, it was challenging for my preschooler to follow in audiobook format (print wouldn't be difficult to follow), but they still enjoyed it. It's a story they'll be able to grow into, and they asked to listen to it again immediately.

The narration is perfect for a children's book—lots of fun voices and playful intonation. This book lacks the sound effects that many of the Golden's other books have.

I recommend this book to those who don't mind—or who enjoy—unique approaches to children's literature and like stories that allow for discussion of life lessons (friendship, kindness, wilderness safety, sharing, etc.). This isn't your typical children's book, so it might not resonate with some adults. But my child enjoyed it, and that's what counts most.
