The perfect wake up call
Revisado: 10-27-23
This is probably one of the best books I’ve read on personal development. It’s to the point, super clear and motivational, which is why it makes it so powerful. With all his years of practice as a clinical psychologist, it is inspiring and motivating to hear him lay it out so simple. As a personal coach he completely speaks my language, yet I had found myself at the bottom of a barrel too looking down on life. How could that have happened? But deep down I know my own truth. Bad habits grow, flourish and can fester if you let it. I let it happen. Without unnecessary blaming or blaming, I’ve picked myself up and feel a renewed sense of ownership and excitement. Thank you Dr Joe. Your work makes a difference!

Wonderful, comforting and thought-provoking
Revisado: 02-01-23
I always enjoy listening to Derren as well as reading his books or watch his shows. In his latest work, I find his chosen topics particularly interesting. It is so relatable and at the same time comforting to know that you’re not alone. Everybody seems to be experiencing very similar things in life and is dealing with it in much the same, quite predictable way. We’re all human and it made me think of the quote by Ram Dass: we’re all just walking each other home. Thank you Derren. It felt like listening to a dear friend who shared some valuable information to ponder, and always, with the added, at times very sobering and entertaining, tongue in cheek. Brilliant.

Riveting, thought provoking and life changing
Revisado: 03-25-22
I read Lisa's brilliant book “How Emotions Are Made” and really like her choice for writing this follow-up. Lisa’s name has literally become a household name in our home (so we realised her suggestion in her first book to create new words for developing a more flexible brain) as she has truly transformed the way we look at ourselves, people in general, and life with her work. If we're stuck or clashing we now say: “Let’s do a Lisa” and over the years, as well as re-reading her book multiple times, we’ve started to see the results and pick the fruits of our labour. I wish I could thank her in person and give her a hug for sharing her profound work with the world in such a practical and understandable way, It has truly changed my life. Her work is always my go-to place and has become my beacon. Thank you so much, Lisa. I loved this addition and cannot wait for more to come. This material is insatiable!

What can I say? Classic Derren Entertainment
Revisado: 03-29-21
Derren never fails to amaze me with his mind tricks and astonishing psychological experiments. Even though he’s his own worst critic, he is in my view one of the most gifted people in entertainment and retaining people’s attention whilst mesmerizing them with his magic & charm. Boot Camp is the perfect blend of wit and fascinating data with a hint of mystery delivered in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Love it!

Historia
For decades, the medical community has looked to a variety of reasons for why we age, and the consensus is that no-one dies of old age; they die of age-related diseases. That's because ageing is not a disease - it is inevitable. But what if everything you think you know about ageing is wrong? What if ageing is a disease? And that disease is curable. In Lifespan, Dr David Sinclair, one of the world’s foremost authorities on genetics and ageing, argues just that.

Historia
The science of emotion is in the midst of a revolution on par with the discovery of relativity in physics and natural selection in biology. Leading the charge is psychologist and neuroscientist Lisa Feldman Barrett, whose research overturns the long-standing belief that emotions are automatic, universal, and hardwired in different brain regions. Instead, Barrett shows, we construct each instance of emotion through a unique interplay of brain, body, and culture.

Changed my view on emotions completely + perfect narration
Revisado: 09-10-19
I’ve been studying emotions for years and this book completely changed my entire outlook on life. It turned everything I’d learned up to this point on its head yet at the same time I could find a lot of peace in this new knowledge. I am so glad I read this book and wish to thank the author for sharing her amazing work with the public. I also wish to thank the narrator for her wonderful reading skills. I really enjoyed listening to her beautiful voice as she was going through the sometimes difficult material with great ease. It was a pleasure to listen to and I highly recommend this life changing book.

Revisado: 09-28-18
I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down. Besides the fact that it is such an easy listen (it’s like you’re chatting to a friend; you really feel like you’ve gained one) I also found it so refreshingly honest. It made me realise once again how much I had been absorbed in the world of self-help trying to "fix" myself, too. At times it felt as if she was writing about my own life and amongst more sobering eyeopeners, I kept thinking how brave I found Marianne to be so outwardly vulnerable (and then to think that this was the exact opposite of what she was experiencing in the book). I can so relate. She’s my secret heroine for sticking with it, writing this book, and finding her own sense of inner peace and self-worth in the process.
Thank you Marianne for your courage, your persistence and your heartfelt honesty. I’ve laughed, I’ve cried and you’ve really helped me see some of the other hidden aspects about myself without my having to resort to yet another self-help book. Just for that, I’m grateful. So, thank you for sharing your amazing story. You are helping people just by being you. And lastly, thank you to your loving mum. She stole a little piece of my heart with her loving nature, wit and wisdom. It was a joy to listen to you both. Looking forward to your next book!

I immediately felt a liking toward Mario Martinez. Without knowing him his warmth and authenticity is shining through his words and his voice. I find the practical exercises to be invaluable in life and his work on centenarians highly refreshing in a world filled with contradicting advice on diets and ways of living. For me the exercises have already been life changing and I am truly grateful for Mario bringing this into the world.

Loved it! Especially Craig's voice!!
Revisado: 02-06-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Art of Happiness, Peace & Purpose to be better than the print version?
YES!! Craig's voice is just awesome!!! A real treat to listen to.
What does Craig Beck bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
As he's narrating his own book adding his own feelings and intonation to the story, therefore reading it exactly the way it was intended, I believe that his message has even more of an impact on the reader.
What insight do you think you’ll apply from The Art of Happiness, Peace & Purpose?
I've already introduced the ho'oponopono technique as well as the journaling to my life (both so simple yet so profound) and both seem to be really making a difference.
Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed listening to the book. It is filled with valuable yet practical information that you can easily apply to your own life. I also think Craig has got a great sense of humour as he had me in stitches a few times. Really worth the read!
