This is one of those books that I have seen all over bookstagram for a while now, and I kept putting off reading it because of the hype. I am still undecided if this one is worth the hype for me.
Now, I did enjoy the book, the characters, the concept of the world. But for me something was missing and I honestly am not even sure what. It might just be that the hype I saw, hyped this one up so high that my own preconceived notions was elevated.
Now, I will absolutely move into the next book in the duet, probably after taking a break from this world, but I did enjoy the book enough to see where the story is headed.

Nineteen years ago, I was plucked from the heart of a bloody massacre that spared nobody else. Small. Fragile. An enigma. Now ward to a powerful High Master who knows too much and says too little, I lead a simple life, never straying from the confines of an imaginary line I've drawn around the castle grounds.

I got this book because of how much I absolutely loved When the Moon Hatched. It took a very long time for me to get into this book, and honestly I am not sure if I ever really did. I still plan on continuing the series at some point, but I just couldn’t completely commit to it.
The world that the author created was very interesting and well thought out. I enjoyed Orlaith as a character and she has a very interesting hidden past. Hoping I can get more invested in the story as I move into book 2.

What in the what just happened 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳. What did Rebecca Yarros just put me through at the end? I’m not sure what I just read…. And I am a weird combination of absolutely not ok and kinda alright. Seriously!?!?!?
Ok, now that my initial thoughts are down on whatever the heck that ending was, I absolutely loved this book. It does star out a bit slow, but then again, Iron Flame did kinda leave us with both Violet and Xaden causing just a bit of havoc at Basgiath, so some decisions need to be made on all of that. I do not recall laughing so much in the first two books. The characters are starting to get so sassy, and I love it! My reaction to a certain assumption was 100% the same as Mira, I lost it just as bad as she did 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
The wait until the next book will be absolutely torture. Is it too early to start a reread?
Oh, and considering the debate on the Violet’s second signet going around the inter webs…. I definitely was not correct in what I thought it was.

This review is brought to you by a reader who got a book because the cover looked pretty. Absolutely not caring about the blurb or reviews, just 100% because there was a great cover. So congrats to the amazing cover artist on this one.
As for the actual book, I am usually not one for viking romance, but I loved the addition of the few who are blessed by the gods with powers. It resulted in a very cool world that the author built.
I definitely got hooked on this story, honestly the biggest drawback for me was that parts were a bit too predictable for me personally. Someone who likes predictability in their books would love this one.
Even with this drawback for me, I am 100% going to read book 2. I am invested.

This is another book that I have been meaning to read since bookstagram loves it so much. For the second book in a row, this read is 100% worth the hype.
I am so invested in this world, in Raeva and in Kaan. I will say, that there are reveals that are pretty easy to guess, so it isn’t a huge surprise, but that didn’t distract from the amazing world that is created.
Another fantasy book that I will be impatiently waiting on book 2!

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares… but it turns out they're real.

Ok, I gave in. I kept seeing this book everywhere on bookstagram and I was unsure if it would live up to the hype.
I am happy to report that it does!
Saeris is just trying to survive and possibly keep her brother out of trouble, but trouble finds her and it leads her to a completely different realm complete with evil fae who were driven from her home years ago. As it often is with fantasy books, not everything is as it seems. Saeris’ affinity with metal is so much more than it seems, and now the dark and dangerous fae, Kingfisher, needs her to use her gift to help his soldiers.
I absolutely loved this world and am seriously invested in this series. Now to wait for the next one!

Historia
Tobias Monroe has never been just a step-brother to me. From the moment we met as little kids, he’s been my everything. My best friend, my protector, the person I could always rely on for anything. As the years went on, our relationship developed into something more, something deeper than what was expected of us. My stupid heart thought that one day, we would take that step over the line that both of us were tip toeing around.

I was instantly hooked on this book! Seriously! So freaking good!
Lilly has been in love with her stepbrother forever, but after being utterly destroyed by him, she is unsure if it will ever happen. Plus he seems to hate her these days. She is finally at the same university as Toby, but is the timing right?
I love Lily and her relationship with Toby is seriously rough. I hope that they can figure their shenanigans out. Lily and Bishop (her best friend and Toby’s best friend) also have an amazing relationship development.
The audiobook for this one was so amazing to listen too. I absolutely love the narrators & they did an amazing job bringing this story to life!

Welcome to the next epic fantasy by the authors of Zodiac Academy, set in a different country as Solaria, we get to see a whole new side of the Fae. The Endless War has raged between the 4 nations of this land, one nation for each element, and everyone is divided by element you hold, if you have more than one you become a Reaper, the keepers of the stars commands. This is a land torn apart by war, mistrust, and hatred of anyone who is not like you. At 21 all fae go to have their power awakened and for a chance to train at Never Keep for a year. This is no Zodiac Academy, but a whole new academy experience.
Our two main characters are Everest, of Raincarvers (Water) & Vesper, aka the Sky Witch, of Stormfell (Air). These two from two sides of the war, but sometimes when a secret runs too deep, even enemies band together.
This book is a good amount of world building since there are some very big differences in the culture from the Solaria World books to here. We even get to see a number of new order forms which I absolutely loved! I was hooked from the very beginning on this book & could not put it down. The new characters are amazing, the world is amazing, the enemies are amazing. Some I want to hate and others I am not sure if I actually do. This book was everything I needed from my Zodiac Academy withdrawal.
The audiobook, as always, was so well done! Bridget & Jake Bordeaux did a phenomenal job on this one. I loved listneing to it.

We are all and nothing now, our fate weighed on the scales of the stars and counterbalanced by the forces that oppose us. The shadow of the false king spreads as thick as oil across the kingdom we were born to rule, and none remain untouched by its darkness. Our crowns lay within reach if only we can claim them. All souls are at risk now and when the final battle dawns, a new regime will rise.

This series has always been one of my absolute favorites and I have both been looking forward to and absolutely dreading this book. I NEEDED to know how it was going to end & also was just not sure I was ready to leave this world behind.
This book was the absolutely perfect ending to this wonderful world. I have so much that I want to say about what happened & will not say a single word about it. You just need to discover it all for yourself.
There is some amazing steamy parts, so many answers given, a redemption arc that I didn’t realize that I needed and am so glad that I got. As with other series by the twisted sisters, you get to see what happens after “the end”.
I just loved this book so much. I am so sad it is over & love to see what else we discover in this larger mirror world.
This audiobook was AMAZING! I loved every minute of it! Such a wonderful job by these narrators.

Book 2 of this series follow Sami’s best friend, Natalie & her journey into adulthood by moving away from home. She expects to find a female as her romance, instead she gets a burly hockey player who is much nicer looking than her ex.
Bradley is a man skank, he will be up for anything and everything, but Natalie is one woman he can’t seem to stay away from.
I liked their story more than the first couple, and honestly I am seriously invested on what happens next.
