Historia
Morgan and his friends won the right to be a part of an expedition to the Tower of Power. Part of a raid group that was led by two Great Guilds, and had the intention of conquering the Tower. But, no one who had ventured beyond the third floor had ever returned. Adventuring might be a dangerous profession, and ascended might encounter death at every turn, but there is a reason why most do not attempt to climb the Tower. For most ascended going into the Tower is a risk not worth taking, in opinions of some, it was equal to suicide.

The references
Revisado: 06-19-24
All the little references and the deep dive into so many different Gods, creatures, mythology, and demons must of been tremendous work. So very clever and funny… laugh out loud funny. If I had any critique which is a small one. At some points there were just too many characters with not enough back story to even matter, because if you hadn’t written them down you would have no clue who they were. Almost felt a little page filler ish. Other than that 10s 10s 10s across the board

Historia
It turns out, the "Demon Weed" actually is a gateway drug! Who knew? Tom Perkinje certainly didn't. He had never smoked anything in his life, but as the new kid in town trying to make friends, he foolishly let his new buddy Reggie talk him into trying a joint that he'd picked up from a new dealer. Before he knew it, Tom was having a seriously bad trip; a total out-of-body experience where the world had dissolved around him.

What a wonderful laugh out loud book
Revisado: 06-05-24
Best book I have listened to in a long time. The narrator was so on the entire story never lacking in energy or enthusiasm. I listened from morning to night during when I had time. Busting out laughing in the middle of my sets at the gym. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for the joy this brought to my day!

I guess I am addicted
Revisado: 05-24-24
If you can get past the narration and names that to closely resemble each other. Listen to it. I like this writer but I think reading this would be so much better. I may be getting used to this terrible AI I don’t know. I may not be able to understand what real people sound like after this lol. Seriously I do like the story . It is getting to that series point where there is a ton of characters and without the natural inflection of a real reader can get hard to differentiate. Still continuing… on to the next… please tell me this will not be the future of book reading. No thank you SIRI

I really like this story
Revisado: 05-21-24
I am surprised how much I like this story. Kudos to the writer as the character has grown and has stayed direct but still maintains this innocence. As most abused children he struggles to grow up and is used to coping with terrible things happening all the time.
Now I will say his powers still outweigh tremendously his predicament but he doesn’t use them , thankfully, because of his wanting to be loved and have family so badly he has fear over them.
The narrator AI is absolutely horrible not sure why the second book was a bit better from the AI than its predecessor and this one. I hope that this won’t be the downfall of these books . I would enjoy actually going back and reading the hardbacks of these.
I will say I am going to trudge on because I really love this writer thought process and his blatant style of wrote. It is worth it to push through I feel this botched Bot AI narrative.

So much better!
Revisado: 05-12-24
I don’t know what happened from the first AI version of narration to this on, shoot maybe I got used to it… nah it was definitely much smoother. Made the character a lot more personable than the last book. This story line is growing on me and even though there is a lot of dark abuse and severe beatings in this novels… ‘not sure what the authors youth was like’. Probly a very religious up bringing. There was also laugh out loud moments and a lot of heart. There was one big flaw in this story that kept going through my head through the second half of the book and I won’t give it away, but I will say the this main character had the abilities and I say plural because he is undoubtedly talented to turn the tide in this quickly. I guess I am saying that there wasn’t an equal amount of power to oppose him except for being kid, that made his reasoning and extensive planning reasonable. That being said I really liked this book. Thank god this kid isn’t a sociopath or shoot we all would be dead lol.
Worth it! On to the next.

Hmph…
Revisado: 05-11-24
Was a good story, it had all the makings of a fluid light listen but with enough action to make it enjoyable…… BUT the most terrible thing of all was the AI.. with its exclamations and verbal lilts that were after every sentence. I can’t believe that I even listened to the whole book. It made me feel like the main character was some emotionless victim of terrible circumstances. I went ahead and just took the abuse from the AI my ears may need therapy after being subjected to it, but I will say hopefully this writer or it’s publisher can afford a good verbal actor and I feel that this would be well like. It has the makings of great in between your favorite series as you wait for your next credit type of book….…… yes I said Ear Therapy!

I have been reading Mercedes books for 30-35 something years and meant a lot to me on my life journey. Just found this series on Audible and it is wonderfully written in her poetic and free flowing style and a joy to listen too. Narration was on point. Also have to say thank you to her for showing a kid who grew up in the country and bullied for being an outsider 40 some years ago and then finding the herald mage series. She showed me a world where love didn’t have genders and I wasn’t alone. She is a hero to so many . Than thank you thank you!
