Great book on management

Gino Wickman pulls from a lot of resources, and I find this to be a little refreshing because quite a few management books are written as though the writer was the first person ever to design a system of business management.
My only criticism is that there might be too many acronyms and charts for one team to actively pursue.

Good moral parable

At it's heart, the story is a good parable, but it sometimes feels a little one-dimensional and flat. Pindar is a little "too perfect."Secondly- Sometimes you can do everything right, you follow the rules, and you don't win the big account, you don't get the sale, and no one invests in your idea. You should just be a good person whether you're successful or not.

This book is a "position piece" written by someone who has a position on sustainabilty, climate change, and environmentalism. He has the person experience of years of activism, and has seen much of how the industry of environmentalism works. So, I take it with a grain of salt- but find many of his points about how much of the sustainability lobby and language means "anti-nuclear" and "anti-hydro-electricity" and less about actually reducing the effects of climate change. Something to think about.

Great start, but hard to finish

I really liked listening to the part where Ray told the story of his success, and how Bridgewater has been successful over the years, but the principles segment seems a little rambling, and like a bunch of "management" phrases scrubbed from other success books.

Struggled to finish. To me it came off as smug and formulaic. "I graduated from an ivy-league college and then went to work for a hedge fund where I made a fortune but felt soul-less and unfulfilled. then I invested in an internet startup, so now I'm a Buddhist, Philanthropist life-coach."

The audiobook would make a good drinking game.

Don't get me wrong, there were a few good pearls of wisdom- but toward the end I started trying to figure out which formula each person would follow when each new chapter started.
