Generated Voice Is Almost Unlistenable

AI voice lacks inflection, idioms, name pronunciation, and consistency. Story was intriguing but poorly delivered…. Spend some money on professional voice talent please.

Jack Nicholson Terrorizes Central Washington
Revisado: 05-04-24
Good story—decent performance. It might be time for the author to venture away from the Seattle. I realize you write from what you know, but Washington state is getting a little tiresome. One of the main antagonists is performed as sounding like Jack Nicholson…would be amusing if not so obvious.

World War III is a month old. After attacking and sinking the Destroyer USS Stacy Heath, the Chinese invade Tibet, and India counterattacks. Rather than allow the Chinese to seize control of the subcontinent, the US sends 20,000 US soldiers and Marines in to join the fight. Too Dull to Finish

Military alternate history oddly featuring a majority of female military officers. Storyline took too long to develop. Overall: disappointing.

Historia
Set in an alternate 1950s in which General MacArthur ignites a nuclear war that nearly destroys the planet. Not only is the outcome of the world's first nuclear war still to be determined, as the Americans and Russians continue to sling death at each other, but there remains the question of how hard it will be for humanity to rebuild itself from the ashes of destruction that this war has wrought. For can a victor truly be declared when all of humanity has paid the price?

Well written book. Mr. Turtledove follows his template religiously. His politics tend to seep through but we have to be tolerant don’t we?!

Historia
From "the master of alternate history" comes a new trilogy that reimagines a mid-20th century in which General MacArthur, without bothering to consult President Truman, detonates nuclear warheads in several Manchurian cities after China enters the Korean War. In his acclaimed novels of alternate history, Harry Turtledove has scrutinized the twisted soul of the 20th century, from the forces that set World War I in motion to the rise of fascism in the decades that followed.

Good character development

Some points & comments made were repetitive, but overall a fascinating concept. Some of the author’s politics seep through, but that’s expected and almost acceptable.
