these were not all the words i wish i said. in fact, most of these words i wish i didn’t write. just to the small fact of, i wish i didn’t care… but sadly i do. but if i said the words i wish i did, then they wouldn’t be my little secret, they would be words on paper in a book....

The story is wonderful, but...
Revisado: 03-15-24
While the book and content is wonderful and relatable. The narrator was horrible. She has a mild accent and very monotone. I literally had to sit down in complete silence to be able to listen and understand what she was saying. For the hour of reading, I wish I had just bought the book and read it myself.

Revisado: 06-17-20
I was heartbroken at the end, she does not have any more books to continue her journey. She gives a very personal and hysterical peek into her life growing up and what has made her Amy Schumer. There has been a stage in all of our lives that we have been Amy. I can not wait to see what she add to her collection of memoirs.

Historia
The two-time Emmy Award-winning actress has written her first book, a surprisingly raw and triumphant memoir that is outrageous, moving, sweet, tragic, and heartbreakingly honest. Guts is a true triumph - a memoir that manages to be as frank and revealing as Augusten Burroughs, yet as hilarious and witty as David Sedaris.

Not at all what I excepted, pleasantly surprised
Revisado: 06-17-20
I love Kristen, I fell in love with her on 3rd rock from the sun. She is gorgeous, gritty, and honest. She left her heart, soul, and the truth in this book. She is doesn't hide her scars and shows what a rock star she is. This is not her memoir because she barely scratches the surface of who she is and her journey, this is roller coaster of events that she made it through standing at the end of the run way, hungover, but made it and crushed the delivery. Would love to see more.

In her hit Netflix comedy special Baby Cobra, an eight-month pregnant Ali Wong resonated so strongly that she even became a popular Halloween costume. Wong told the world her remarkably unfiltered thoughts on marriage, sex, Asian culture, working women, and why you never see new mom comics on stage but you sure see plenty of new dads.

Ali is wonderful, raw, creative, and funny. She captured her stories from dark places and made wonderful lights and memories about her journey. Must read, highly suggest the audio portion as Ali narrates which makes it so much better.

Good Motivator, not for those looking for answers
Revisado: 06-17-20
I really struggled with this book the entire time. Rachel is very gifted and has wonderful insights and courage. But her " dark stories" are not the dark most people struggle with. She struggled with a boyfriend that ignored her, with failed adoption process, and starting a company. This is not real life struggles. Her boyfriend (now husband) dismissed her and this counted as bad behavior, Most suffer from emotional abuse and neglect from their partners which they need help or answers too. If that is the case this is not your book. She is successful because she is positive, strong willed, and mindful. But if you do not have those traits already this book will just make you feel more defeated and alone. This will not help you become stronger, make your mind tough, look for silver linings. This gives you a kick in the ass to be better if your already productive. But this will not help you grow that person your looking for.

Historia
If you can count on one thing from "Madea" Mabel Simmons, star of Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Madea's Family Reunion, it's that she's got something to say. She's the beloved, hilarious, sharp-witted, pistol-packing grandmother who's watching out and speaking her mind. Now Madea is telling her own story, dishing her memoirs and hard-won, hilarious wisdom in her own inimitable voice (with a little help from her friend Tyler Perry).

Historia
I am not a bad parent, my child is not stubborn - this has been my mantra for years, especially when my youngest child, Sophia, entered her toddler years. Sophia wanted to learn things in her own way and would do anything in her power to get what she liked or prove that she was right. If her attention was called because of misbehavior, she would go into a meltdown. You are probably going through the same scenario with your kid. Downloading this audiobook may be your cry for help, and you desperately want to understand how you can deal with your “difficult” child.

They tried...
Revisado: 06-17-20
The narrator's voice was very hard to listen to and keep you attention. She sounds exactly like one of your Biology or History teachers. They kept using the term he/she when referring to you "spirited child". They should have used they or their. This really started to wear on my nerves as I listened. There is nothing special in this book. Be patient, give you kids a say, and allow them to control certain situations definitely would not continue with the series. Especially with this narrator it physically took mental focus to listen to just 37 minutes.
