"It felt like I was speeding on the Autobahn toward hell, trapped inside a DeLorean with no brakes. And even if I could somehow stop, I'd still be screwed, because there's no way I'd ever be able to figure out how to open those insane, cocaine-designed doors."
The two-time Emmy Award-winning actress has written her first book, a surprisingly raw and triumphant memoir that is outrageous, moving, sweet, tragic, and heartbreakingly honest. Guts is a true triumph - a memoir that manages to be as frank and revealing as Augusten Burroughs, yet as hilarious and witty as David Sedaris.
With Guts, Johnston takes us on a journey so truthful and relatable, so remarkably fresh, it promises to stay with the listener for a long, long time.

What did you love best about Guts?
Kristen is so honest. Sadly, many moments made me cry because it came too close to home with a friend of mine. But the way Kristen reads this brings laughter too. It's the first audio book I've had, but I have since downloaded a half dozen more. What better way to fit "reading" in to my daily schedule! What did you like best about this story?
It was like sitting with an old friend who has finally cleaned up.Which scene was your favorite?
When her friend finally told her that Kristen wasn't fooling anyone and her real friends knew for a while she had a problem - and that they took the opportunity to call her on it...and she LISTENED!If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Being Real - Really RealAny additional comments?
While I loved hearing Kristen's story - I hope there is never a need for a follow up book due to relapse. Best wishes to her for continued sobriety and success in all she does.Great book
