Historia
Berlin, 1964. The Greater German Reich stretches from the Rhine to the Urals and keeps an uneasy peace with its nuclear rival, the United States. As the Fatherland prepares for a grand celebration honoring Adolf Hitler's 75th birthday and anticipates a conciliatory visit from US president Joseph Kennedy and ambassador Charles Lindbergh, a detective of the Kriminalpolizei is called out to investigate the discovery of a dead body in a lake near Berlin's most prestigious suburb.

The horror of the possibility of axis victory.
Revisado: 10-05-24
The narrator was extraordinary gifted. The writing was so frightening that I had to listen to it more then once to get past the shocking nature of the idea of axis victory and really take in plots and subplots.

Historia
On January 20, 1942, fifteen men arrived for a meeting in a luxurious villa on the shores of the Wannsee in the far-western outskirts of Berlin. They came at the invitation of Reinhard Heydrich and were almost all high-ranking Nazi Party, government, and SS officials. But the beauty of the situation stood in stark contrast to the purpose of the meeting to which the fifteen had come in January 1942: the “Final Solution of the Jewish Question.”

The narrators accent was deliberately accentuated at times and it made me crazy. Also his pace was so fast that I had trouble digesting the material at times and when you consider the context of this book, it deals with some very serious topics.

this guy is good fortune luck over and over again it’s really incredible. Some or something was really looking out for this guy, I found that blatantly obvious almost as much as I found that blatantly obvious. He truly had a charmed existence in terms of his longevity.

Larsen’s expose, based on first-hand conversations with the killer himself, remains the granddaddy Bundy book of them all – even inspiring a hit miniseries, starring Mark Harmon, that riveted America for weeks. Now BUNDY: THE DELIBERATE STRANGER returns to mark the 30th anniversary of the execution of America’s most famous serial killer. Historia
J. Robert Oppenheimer was one of the iconic figures of the 20th century, a brilliant physicist who led the effort to build the atomic bomb but later confronted the moral consequences of scientific progress. When he proposed international controls over atomic materials, opposed the development of the hydrogen bomb, and criticized plans for a nuclear war, his ideas were anathema to powerful advocates of a massive nuclear buildup during the anti-Communist hysteria of the early 1950s.

A wealth of personal and scientific knowledge that was easy to understand and to have a sense of compassion about.
Revisado: 01-24-24
I loved the book. The way the book described his relationship with his Lover and subsequently his wife’s reaction was thin. Also I felt that that his life with in the community he built in NM was vague at best.

Historia
Ted Bundy had competition -- and he hated that. Another, even more prolific serial killer, was taking sex workers off the streets near Seattle while Bundy stewed with envy inside prison. Bundy asked detectives if he could help catch “The Riverman.” Listen to Bundy accurately “profile” the elusive Green River Killer. This rare audio material is complimented with insight from a famous detective who interviewed both Bundy and the Riverman.

Nothing terribly revealing
Revisado: 09-30-23
This was free when I downloaded it and hearing this murders voice was my biggest reason to get these clips. But, just like every other narcissistic murderer, at his core he is truly pathetic. Romanticized and made into something far grander then he ever actually could obtain on his own. The police, just tolerated his ramblings to get facts out of him. He was a desperate child, and the schoolgirl mentality found him erotically appealing. But at his core he was just a white privileged, glib and smug psychotic. That ended up taking many innocent young promising women away from the world. I don’t like the fact that these interviews do not focus on this fact during these interviews. He was a disgusting man who committed one atrocity after another while doing his best to give himself a grandiose persona!

Historia
In the chaos following World War II, the US government faced many difficult decisions, including what to do with the Third Reich's scientific minds. These were the brains behind the Nazis' once-indomitable war machine. So began Operation Paperclip, a decades-long, covert project to bring Hitler's scientists and their families to the United States. Many of these men were accused of war crimes, and others had stood trial at Nuremberg; one was convicted of mass murder and slavery.

Reality is often hidden!
Revisado: 05-24-23
Most of this is what my grandfather told me after fighting in World War II. However, it is not for the faint of heart and I would recommend that you either get a tough skin or just grow up or as hell and there’s no way around that but this book is more about how the allies who are supposedly “good“ were very far from that at times, and the sooner you face that the sooner you’ll be able to understand why some decisions were made.

Reinhard Heydrich is widely recognized as one of the great iconic villains of the 20th century, an appalling figure even within the context of the Nazi leadership. Chief of the Nazi Criminal Police, the SS Security Service, and the Gestapo, ruthless overlord of Nazi-occupied Bohemia and Moravia, and leading planner of the "Final Solution," Heydrich played a central role in Hitler's Germany.
