The only thing that bothered me about this story is the lack of realism when it comes to the arrest. No way would cops arrest someone without fingerprints or video of the crime in an office situation…. Just saying

DNF though I really did try. It took me a month to make it through the first book….maybe it was the books themselves or partly the narrators but it was just painful to spend my time on

Great story but horrible female narrator

I love this story line but I had a very hard time making it through this book. It’s like the female narrator has no idea how to pronounce names nor did she listen to the previous books to see how they were pronounced in the other books.

Disappointing

Being a fan of all Mrs. Lackey's book previously, I can only say I felt let down by this one. The characters felt forced and I made no real connection with them. I am only 5 chapters in so if things change I will update this.

The narrator however, I will avoid like the plague moving forward. I have never heard so many mispronounced words in the hundred of books I have listened to. An example she pronounced feral as FEARALL and you can't go a full paragraph without wondering what the heck she is reading. Every character sounds the same. it is just torture to listen to. I went out and got a paper copy of the book to try and finish.

I'm already waiting for the next one

As a die hars fan of MS. Maas, I admit the first book in both other series had me doubting if I could keep reading. But I did and there were no regrets. This book was no different, there were points were I wanted to smack some of the characters and wondered if they were still children. But that is a sign of a well written book, when it tugs at more than just your heart strings. And I have every faith that as this series builds I will fall more and more in love with it. Especially with that epilogue!!!!! I can't wait for the next book.

Needs a better narrator

I love Kelley Armstrong's books. I have read them all and keep going back to them. However, trying to listen to them with the 2 different narrators they have had so far...... heartbreaking. It is hard to tell one character from another most of the time. And I'm sorry, but if you can't be bothered to do a little research on how different people from Louisiana sound, don't pretend. I wasn't looking for perfection, but it was like everyone had the same monotone voice and the one Southern sounded like he was caught from New England trying to take being from the south. I really hope the next narrator (3rd one for the 3rd book) has a better time. I really wanted to be able to listen to the books when I didn't have time to read :(

Love Kelley Armstrong

Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld books are fantastic easy reads that bring fantasy to the real world. I would always recommend her works. However I really struggled with the narration. There was very like difference in most charater changes, if I didn't already know the story I would have seriously struggled. For me the performance was lack luster.

Good to a distraction

story line is a bit predictable, there was a lot of rushed info without a lot of character development. but it was a good distraction while I wait for other books. female narrator is a bit on the shrill side and for both it was hard to tell one character from another. but I will probably listen to the next one
