I’m no internet sleuth but I tried and tried and tired to verify this story and could never find anyone named Nancy Lee or Nina or anything even remotely related to this. I couldn’t even find their kennel name or their champion dogs which would have garnered some validity.
The narrator has a nice voice and it’s not her fault that she’s the messenger but until I can find some evidence that this book is “true crime” I’m not believing it. It’s all over the place and has no focus on the most interesting parts of the story. There’s zero treatment of the husband’s history, mental state, etc.
the only reason I haven’t returned it is because I’m still trying to figure out if it’s real or not.

I love anything Joe Kenda. He’s humorous, interesting and brutally honest. This doesn’t even sound like an audiobook but as if we’re sitting in the room together and he’s telling me stories. There’s no “narration” about this, it’s him talking to you. Not a dull moment.
