Started off more fictional then I usually like but I'll probably never forget how good this book was by the end.

Started off more fictional then I like usually. Really got outlandish at points. But I'll probably never forget how good this book was by the end. But it's also incredibly sad. As always I wish there was just one more book to really wrap things up.

Historia
Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission - and if he fails, humanity and the Earth itself will perish. Except that right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it. All he knows is that he's been asleep for a very, very long time. And he's just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

Slow start but gets better.
Revisado: 10-04-24
The very first sentence of the Martian has got to be one of the best ever, this book takes a 180° approach to that. But turns out to be a pretty good book.

With Fred ready to give birth and the revelation that Mary is also pregnant, spirits are high in the community. For Morgan, however, it's just one more thing to worry about. His mom and dad are now settled in and getting to work, but the babies are coming, the milking barn needs to be built, and the power plant must be kept running. To make matters worse, they're now dealing with the US Army. Morgan has real concerns once he hears about the Army's plans and what they expect of the people of Lake County. After more than a year without the rule of law, are the people ready to return to it?

Lame, written for a female audience?
Revisado: 12-06-23
A lot of chapters devoted to boob milk and babies. I don't know if they're trying to garner a female audience or what, but I've never made the finger pointing at mouth gag mouth gag gesture while driving so many times. So much useless conversation about don't call me sheriff, don't call me governor. Big fan of a series but this book was an L. Finally the last few chapters they actually did something and stopped all the useless conversation. I saved this book for a road trip and I felt like it made it longer. Somebody needs to count how many times he said don't call me sheriff because it's insane. we get the point. and Mel being part of missions is nothing but a giant eye roll. at one point she's like oh my god, it's a dead body, don't be rude and then turns around and murders two people like it's nothing. find her a different job.

Historia
In this stirring audiobook, David McCullough tells the intensely human story of those who marched with General George Washington in the year of the Declaration of Independence, when the whole American cause was riding on their success, without which all hope for independence would have been dashed and the noble ideals of the Declaration would have amounted to little more than words on paper.

Historia
Here are the two most treasured documents of American freedom together on one audiobook. Drafted by Thomas Jefferson in 1776 as an act of rebellion, the Declaration of Independence powerfully expresses the political principles of an emerging nation. Ratified in 1788, the Constitution for the United States remains a shining example of patriotism and compromise.

Understood every word and it all made sense. I was led to believe in school that it was written in Old English and was hard to understand. That was not the case.

Historia
Winter is coming. Such is the stern motto of House Stark, the northernmost of the fiefdoms that owe allegiance to King Robert Baratheon in far-off King's Landing. There Eddard Stark of Winterfell rules in Robert's name. Far to the north, behind the towering Wall, lie savage Wildings and worse - unnatural things relegated to myth during the centuries-long summer, but proving all too real and all too deadly in the turning of the season. Yet a more immediate threat lurks to the south, where Jon Arryn, the Hand of the King, has died under mysterious circumstances....

Historia
Six days ago, astronaut Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars. Now, he's sure he'll be the first person to die there. After a dust storm nearly kills him and forces his crew to evacuate while thinking him dead, Mark finds himself stranded and completely alone with no way to even signal Earth that he's alive - and even if he could get word out, his supplies would be gone long before a rescue could arrive. Chances are, though, he won't have time to starve to death. The damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or plainold "human error" are much more likely to kill him first.

Revisado: 08-27-15
Amazing book and narrating! This was my first free book. Finished it in less then 30 hours and no it is not a short book. I think I might keep my subscription going! Some how this is the funniest book about a guy who has calculated the day he is going to die from "page 1".
P. S. Do not listen to in public unless you're okay with random outbursts of laughter!
