Historia
Charlie Hall has never found a lock she couldn’t pick, a book she couldn’t steal, or a bad decision she wouldn’t make. She's spent half her life working for gloamists, magicians who manipulate shadows to peer into locked rooms, strangle people in their beds, or worse. Gloamists guard their secrets greedily, creating an underground economy of grimoires. And to rob their fellow magicians, they need Charlie Hall.

I enjoyed this book
Revisado: 05-19-22
I read quite a few reviews that didn't care for the story or found it boring. I thought it was interesting and very different from other books. I couldn't stop listening at times. I hope there is a second book to continue the story.

It was a pretty good ending
Revisado: 12-17-21
I found myself bored through some parts of this story. It wasn't bad at all but it wasn't great either. I'm not sure about the ending but as long as everyone is happy I guess that's all that matthers

Ended up loving this book!
Revisado: 10-04-21
I wasn't overly excited with the first few chapters of this book, but I'm a huge Holly Black fan. I have read most of her books. It pulled me in after a while and I couldn't stop listening. I wish there was more but the story had a satisfying ending.

Well... it was ok
Revisado: 01-14-21
It was kind of a cute story. I thought it was pretty obvious towards the last few chapters who the killer was. The problem I had the most was there was no description for the characters. When you read or listen to books there is a picture you have in your mind. I didn't get that for anyone. Maybe the author wanted the person reading to decide. I probably won't keep going in this series. That is just my own thoughts.

This was a good story
Revisado: 12-29-20
I liked it all but it was short. I do not think it should have cost the same as a full audible book. Since the average audible book is over 6 hours. I did use a credit but still it was too short to cost almost $20. That is my only complaint

In fact, by age twenty, she is the sole survivor of a horrific, unsolved multiple homicide. Some might say she’s thrown her life away. But at her hospital bed, Alex is offered a second chance: to attend one of the world’s most prestigious universities on a full ride. What’s the catch, and why her?

It took me going back
Revisado: 05-06-20
I started this book a while back but stopped because I didn't think it was worth the time. After finishing a couple others I went back to this one and it was worth it. My criticism is it takes a while before the story gets going. At first it is kind of confusing and sad. I think after maybe 1/3 of the book the story becomes more interesting and the jumps in time stop. I love Leigh Bardugo and this book was well written. As always the narration is extremely good. This may not be the book for everyone but if you keep going it really is an incredible story and I will be waiting for the next in the series.

A beautiful ending to a beautiful series
Revisado: 11-25-18
I hate when a series ends but knowing what happens is cathartic. I started this series a couple years ago and quickly listened through it all. I'm sure some people or critics listen or read and find it to be ridiculous or childish but this series is amazing. You start in the beginning thinking one thing about the characters involved but by the end you see their true personalities. Sarah J Maas did an amazing job of evolving them and leaving them well rounded individuals. I can't wait until her next book and I will be sure to pre-order it. if you loved any of her other books than you will love this one

This one is no exception. I think I have become obsessed. There is no doubt she leaves you wanting more not only in this series but also in the court of thorns and roses series. So if you have finished all of this series then you should start her other. I can hardly wait for the next in either of her series.
