Historia
In the unforgiving docklands of east London, young orphan William must do all he can to survive. Like the other ‘wharf rats', his life of petty crime is not a choice; it's a necessity. But William's misdeeds won't remain hidden for long. When the boy unknowingly steals from a murderous pirate captain, escape is his only option. He is forced to stow away and begin a life that will take him to the far side of the world; a life as a soldier of the East India Company.

Most enjoyable
Revisado: 03-10-25
The thing I liked most in the book is that the MC is someone you can respect and like. Billy is resourceful, brave and decent.
Also, Hosker paints an accurate picture of the past and doesn't disregard the brutal reality, but without the woke guilt trips that ruin a story.
The narrator was brilliant.
My only complaint is that it was too short.

Historia
Ancient Rome, in this accurate and evocative series, is just as politics driven as any major American city - possibly even more. Decius Caecilius Metellus has, through a series of rather wild adventure, and in the act of tracking down killers and other reprobates, barely escaped annhilation several times. Now, newly elected to the office of aedile, the lowest rung on the ladder of Roman authority, he must smoke out corruption and conspiracy that threaten to destroy all of Rome.

Historia
When Roman junior senator Decius Caecilius Metellus the Younger has a chance to join a diplomatic mission to Alexandria, he welcomes the opportunity to temporarily elude his enemies in the Eternal City - even though it means leaving his beloved Rome. Decius is just beginning to enjoy the outpost's many exotic pleasures when the suspicious death of an irascible philosopher occurs, coinciding with the puzzling and apocalyptic ravings of a charismatic cult leader. Intrigued, Decius requests and is given permission by the Egyptian Pharaoh to investigate the heinous crime. What he discovers is beyond shocking.

Historia
A careless accident by a scientist in the twenty-fourth century dramatically and irretrievably altered the lives of billions in what is known as the Parallel Multiverse. In most instances, a single individual was transported to a different universe, resulting in shock, sorrow and a struggle to survive. Phil and Grant’s deer hunting expedition in northern Pennsylvania started with an early morning ride into the woods and was followed by a hike home to a town that no longer existed. The geography was the same but the familiar countryside was now a barren wilderness. The two practical minded...

Historia
Elliot Richardson thought he’d lost everything. He’d come home from deployment to find his wife cheating on him, his sons strangers and his life in tatters. Driving away, unsure where he was going, he fell through an interdimensional rift and found himself in a very different world, a city of magic and mystery and dangers beyond his comprehension, a land spinning out of control. Innovations from the distant west unsettle the monarchy and challenge the position of the aristocrats and warlords who hold the kingdom in their grasp.

Excellent Time Travel Story
Revisado: 04-27-24
If you are into the time travel genre, you will enjoy this book. The story is slightly more nuanced, at least relative to most books I read. The book does not focus on technology but more on the impact a person out of time can have on society and politics. Well worth the credit.

No story, just an endless recitation of primitive production methods.

Solid Time Travel Book
Revisado: 03-26-24
Overall, I enjoyed the book and if you like this genre then you should give a chance.
I have two issues:
1. The book focused too much on the technical. Not enough on the politics of the era and not a lot of adventure.
2. Too easy. The protagonist tranfored his society with almost no backlash.
Nice listen

One of the best in the series
Revisado: 05-06-22
The mysteries surrounding Nilo and the connection between the savages and the House of Reason are somewhat unraveled.
What I liked most about this installment is that the authors are merging threads from the “Savage Wars” and from “Contracts and Terminations”. If you haven’t read/ listened to these books, you will still understand. If you have, it will be even better.
The thing I liked most about this book is that Garret, Death, and MakRaven had their time to shine. Only problem is that you know what happens to leejes that Bubbles choose as handlers (not sure who is handling who with this voodoo dog). Death really kicked ass in this installment and so did Garret, in his own way.
R.C. Bray was, of course, amazing. Nothing I can write that will do him justice.
I hope this has been helpful. I wish you as much enjoyment as I had from this book.
To Nick and Jason: Thank you!

What a Blast!!!
Revisado: 03-04-21
Usually, I don’t go for sci-fi and fantasy melds, but I am a huge fan of Anspach & Cole, so I took a chance. It was AMAZING !!!
The Plot: Some Chinese nano-plague is destroying our world. To prevent the total annihilation of civilization, the U.S. government is sending a company of U.S Army Rangers 10,000 years ahead in time. When the Rangers arrive, they discover that the world is turned into a D&D fantasy horror. The rangers face Orcs, vampires, trolls, and whatnot, all against overwhelming odds. Somehow they make it; through sheer guts, grit, ingenuity, and killer instincts. Rangers being rangers (not that I know, I never served in the U.S Army), they got the job done.
The protagonist: Talker, is a linguist turned ranger. Talker is a Ph.D., a nerd, and a caffeine junkie; he is also a gifted intel operative and not shy about killing people or things if the situation requires. As usual with A&C, the cast is full of unique characters such as Captain Knife-Hand, the company commander, The deadly Sergeant Kurtz, PFC Soprano, and others that will blow you away.
The Narrator: Terrific performance. This narrator is first class, just as good as R.C Bray and Mark Boyett.
Very nicely done! I am already looking for the next book.
