Historia
If someone had told me three months ago that I would walk down the aisle to marry my boss, Derrick Thomas, the hot as hell but super demanding and arrogant CEO of Broker Publishing, I would have called them a damn lunatic. But here I am, all dressed in white, ready to tie the knot with the man of my dreams. Or so you would think. There's one problem: Somewhere along the way, I did the dumbest thing possible. I fell in love with him. When Jessica Ellis lands her dream job as an editor at Broker Publishing in Manhattan, she never expects her life to take a dramatic turn. But when her parents'...

Plot has potential
Revisado: 02-05-25
Great book ruined by virtual voice. I wouldn’t waste a credit on it. The storyline has potential and the buildup is good, but then it just seems to end. The ending should have been better developed.

Historia
Add one cocky hockey god, one feisty female, and many emotions left unsaid. Stir together in a fake engagement of convenience. Stand back… Max I’d never missed a beat when it came to women and hockey. But all my usuals fell by the wayside that night. I never intended to seduce Hailey Rogers, my best friend’s off-limits sister. Hey, that was a bro-code violation. But she was sizzling perfection, so I pulled her body in and took her—and her V-card. Then I ran… and Hailey’s plaintive question as the door slammed shut echoed in me for years: “Max?” Hailey Max Decker is back. Now...

Awful narration
Revisado: 11-27-24
Couldn’t listen more than about 20 minutes. This storyline had potential but needed a male and female narrator as the storyline was difficult to follow with only one voice.

There seems to be little story line. This could have been a really good book. However, it was more like soft porn. Do not recommend.

Hazel Stillman is a woman of rare independence and limited opportunities. Born with a clubbed foot, she was sent away as a child, and, knowing her disability means a marriage is unlikely, she devoted herself to scholarship and education. Mirrors my love story
Revisado: 07-08-23
Very realistic and tasteful exploration of love between a woman and an autistic young man. Reminded me of my own love story now 36 years strong. The narrator read the stilted speech accurately but without judgment or disrespect. All in all a beautiful story.

Way too long!
Gray’s disrespect for Lana just finally got too annoying. He focused only on what he wanted and not how his wants affected her. That is not love.

Historia
James de Vere has always insisted on being perfectly pragmatic and rational in all things. It seemed the only way to deal with his overdramatic, greedy family. When he falls ill and no doctor in London can diagnose him, he returns home to Grace Hill in search of a physician who can - or to set his affairs in order. Arriving at the doctor's home, he's surprised to encounter the doctor's daughter Laura, a young woman he last saw when he was warning her off an attachment with his cousin Graeme. Alas, the doctor is recently deceased and Laura is closing up the estate.

Great story
Revisado: 06-24-23
The story was interesting as were the characters. There were enough lot twists and turns to keep the story moving and the ending was not as predictable as some stories. The inclusion of a pet as a major character was cool! The author also included some historical tidbits which I always find fascinating in stories and indicative of the author’s hard work to keep the story believable. I will certainly search for more books by this author. The narrator’s male voice was great but the female voices were just ok, with the exception of Tessa which made me laugh as I could picture her speaking the author’s words. Great job on that one!
Overall, I will likely ready this one again.

Historia
It is well documented that our health-care system has grave problems, but how, in only a matter of decades, did things get this bad? Dr. Elisabeth Rosenthal doesn't just explain the symptoms; she diagnoses and treats the disease itself. Rosenthal spells out in clear and practical terms exactly how to decode medical doublespeak, avoid the pitfalls of the pharmaceuticals racket, and get the care you and your family deserve. She takes you inside the doctor-patient relationship, explaining step by step the workings of a profession sorely lacking transparency.

Slow at times, but overall a good read
Revisado: 08-03-16
I enjoyed learning more about the duties of the Secret Service agents in the White House. The narration is excellent and the narrator seems to really
capture the author's frustration over events he witnessed. My only criticism is that the book moves slowly at times, providing extraneous details that takes way from the flow of the story.

Historia
Secret Service agent Clint Hill brings history intimately and vividly to life as he reflects on his 17 years protecting the most powerful office in the nation. Hill walked alongside Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford, seeing them through a long, tumultuous era - the Cold War; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy; the Vietnam War; Watergate; and the resignations of Spiro Agnew and Richard M. Nixon.

Lgt of repeat info but the story is compelling as ever
Revisado: 05-20-16
Having read the other books, I feel that this one spends a little too much time repeating info already presented. There is enough new info to justify buying this one as well though. Narrator is excellent. Reads the story at a good pace and not too fast, as some do. Inflection is not too dramatic, drawing the reader in for a careful listen as Clint Hill recount his story.

Historia
On April 20, 1999, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold walked into Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. Over the course of minutes, they would kill 12 students and a teacher and wound 24 others before taking their own lives. For the last 16 years, Sue Klebold, Dylan's mother, has lived with the indescribable grief and shame of that day. How could her child, the promising young man she had loved and raised, be responsible for such horror? And how, as his mother, had she not known something was wrong?

Revisado: 04-11-16
This book touched me in so many ways.i too have a son with a brain illness. While his crimes were not nearly as tragic as those of Dylan and Eric, I felt many of the same feelings she expresses in the book. It was awesome to have someone put so many of my own thoughts into words. Peace be with you Ms Klebold and God bless you.
