Good story
Revisado: 08-10-24
Good read....hard to follow at times but she goes back and ties it up nicely toward the end. Didn't like the narration but got used to it. she sounds like she's trying to whisper or something...didn't work for me. not sure why she thought it should be read like that

Good but could have been better
Revisado: 07-30-19
Good story but could have been better. Found myself getting frustrated because the main character (wife) was protrayed to be rather naive. I had it figured out pretty early. Disappointed the author made her kinda dumb. Otherwise the storyline had a lot of potential to really be a good book and could have been much better.

Expecting so much more but it was 3 different books in one which was weird. The narrator in the first book was awful. The second one not too bad. Dissappointed.

Historia
The Earl of St. Merryn needs a woman. His intentions are purely practical - he simply wants someone sensible and suitably lovely to pose as his betrothed for a few weeks among polite society. He has his own agenda to pursue, and a false fiancée will keep the husband-hunters at bay while he goes about his business. The simplest solution is to hire a paid companion. Finding the right candidate proves more of a challenge than he expected.
