Weak story and bad science
Revisado: 02-12-25
While the narration here is pretty good, there are enough plot holes to drive a truck through and the author repeatedly ignores basic high school science. I got to within an hour of the ending before I gave up. I’m sorry I wasted my time.

Historia
Robinette Thornburg, the half-human daughter of ultra-rich Robert Thornburg, thought she was fully human, just weird, for the first twenty-one years of her life. She went to expensive private schools, then Harvard. On her twenty-first birthday, she learned that she was half Mangi, the result of an encounter between her father and a primitive near-human woman from the Wild, an alternate reality North America where primitive humans arrived half a million years ago, but no modern humans ever did. Great story and characters, virtual voice not as bad as I expected
Revisado: 10-05-24
This was a fun read. Short, almost novella-size, but sweet. The audiobook narration was by “virtual voice,” which I’m guessing involves some ai. Most of the time I couldn’t tell it wasn’t a human reading. Recommended.

The reader did a great job on this one. As did the writer — he captured Doyle’s pace and style perfectly.
