Historia
No is perhaps the most important and certainly the most powerful word in the language. Every day we find ourselves in situations where we need to say no: to people at work, at home, and in our communities; because no is the word we must use to protect ourselves and to stand up for everything and everyone that matters to us. This indispensable audiobook will give you a simple three-step method for saying a Positive No.

Ury's technique seems to have it all
Revisado: 05-05-24
The author begins with the moments of mystery that stand out. He moves on to the technique and how it's structured, taking time and space to be clear what it is and what it isn't. His voice is calm and sincere. If I was forced to criticize anything, it was around chapter 6, where it seemed, here in audiobook form, that he was still trying to re-sell me the concept. it didn't go along with the high degree of confidence the rest of the book emanated, thus it stood out, and it was temporary. I personally would have liked more examples of everyday small events where the stakes of practicing "yes-no-yes" were lower, like the Aunt and her bed-jumping niece. and perhaps delving into what this might look like with mentally ill individuals. I'm very appreciative of Mr. Ury and his body of work. Fabulous book.

What did your boss mean in that email? Is your mechanic stretching the truth? Whether you’re engaged in a casual conversation or a high-stakes negotiation, it’s critical to understand the subtext of a situation. But with so much interaction happening on screens—via email, texts, or video chat—we are losing the ability to interpret expressions and cues. Furthermore, since many are now savvy about the meaning of body language, it’s become even harder to discern someone’s true thoughts or intentions.

brilliant and more!
Revisado: 12-10-23
Fortune smiled when I bought this book. While the author doesn't dive deep into all the facets of the topics featured in his book, the points on which he shines a light are the most important. His examples are insightful. This book opened my mind, connecting dots I had no idea could be connected, and helped further validate connections I already made. And the reading voice is exceptional. Enjoy!

Do the lessons passed down to us by history, lessons whose origins may lie hundreds, even thousands of years in the past, still have value for us today? Is Santayana's oft-repeated saying, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it," merely a way to offer lip service to history as a teacher-or can we indeed learn from it? And if we can, what is it that we should be learning?
