LOVED The Grovel!

I'm a serious sucker for a good grovel, but sometimes I genuinely feel like authors are closet boy moms. The amount of things that men get away with and don't have to do ANYTHING to win the heroine back is insane. I feel like the level of grovel in this story was PERFECT! Chef's kiss! I loved the depiction of neurodivergent characters in this book as well. I had a serious hate-on going for the male main character in the beginning, the level of arrogant indifference was enough to make my skin prickle. The switch to cinnamon roll was done so well that it was perfect. This was an overall great listen. I definitely would recommend!

I love a second chance romance, and this one did not disappoint. I was particularly a huge fan of the strength the FMC possessed and how independent she was. Highly recommend!

Strong FMC AND Strong MMC is ALWAYS interesting

We all love ourselves a pixie heroine, but a fierce pixie willing to fight for what she believes in and also incredibly intelligent? Yes please! Both the FMC and the MMC are super strong willed in this story. I loved how by the book he was and how much she maybe doesn't even know where the book is that she is. This was honestly such a good listen that I will likely listen again. Definitely worth the time, especially if you love yourself a strong willed heroine.

Ok, This Was HOT!

First, I love myself a good stalker romance, but I love it even more when the stalker isn't super creepy. She knows he is there, kind of, most of the time. He doesn't interact with her without her knowledge. So, that's something to know if you like that kind of stalker romance. Also, he is totally infatuated with her. No other women involved and an ultimate HEA. Not super dark, just morally gray.

Reverse Harem for the WIN!

Sometimes, these type stories can be a bit meh. I will warn you this is heavily bordering on the erotica genre, but there is also a good storyline that is quite interesting. Also, be forewarned that it is a cliffhanger and not a stand alone book. I always wish that was in the summary. Not because I wouldn't read/listen, but it helps me prepare to listen to the follow-up next. Just FYI.

LOVED IT!

Honestly, I love a good enemies to lovers story, but a lovers to enemies to lovers trope is even better! Especially in this Romeo Juliet type setting. There is literally only a few things in ANY story I cringe at and this one had that. So, spoiler and also possible trigger warning coming up next. In their "torture" scenes, fingernails/toenails get removed. It literally makes me recoil, probably because I've lost a fingernail myself so I know what it feels/looks like. Anyways, if that bothers you, be aware that you will encounter it and the scenes are a bit... well described, but thankfully short lived. I highly recommend this one!

Ok, Now Hear Me Out

Listen, I am a big fangirl of the "daddy" genre and I genuinely don't yuck other peoples yum. I didn't have an issue with the "little girl" nickname, I could look past it. It's not my thing, but not an issue for me either. My issue is the genuine hate on I had for the FMC leaving her kiddo at home alone, her THREE YEAR OLD kiddo, while she works at night. She's supposedly surrounded by people who want to help her/keep her safe, but not a single dang one of them steps in when she is leaving a toddler home alone while she works? Ain't no one calling CPS? This is not only unrealistic, but downright infuriating. If you didn't want to have her being someone who takes care of her kid, don't write the kid into the story. I get it, I've been the single mom. Life's tough. There is absolutely ZERO CHANCE a normal person leaves their toddler home alone. Hell, even writing the kid as being like 9/10 would have fixed this to at least make it bearable. But a literal toddler? I just couldn't get past that part and I honestly can't believe it isn't mentioned more in the reviews or ARC readers didn't light the writer up on that. Anyways, it's an alright story if you can find it in yourself to ignore that pretty glaring part that is brought up a LOT in the story but no dang body seems to step in to help her fix.

Incredibly Difficult But WORTH IT

As a DV survivor, this was a very difficult one for me to listen to, but the raw emotions and strength that the FMC has made this worth every bit. Not to mention how the MMC became her anchor to help her stay tethered to that strength. This was so incredibly well written, the characters and their past stories so well developed. I definitely recommend this one. The narrators were also perfect for the characters. I truly enjoyed the way they brought Susie Tate's writing to life.

What a TWIST

So, I thought I had this one figured out, but I was wrong wrong wrong. I loved the story telling, the narrators were great and fit the characters in my opinion. There are absolutely dark romance tropes going on here, so if dub-con isn't your thing, I would go find something else. It isn't HARD dub-con, but there is definite coercion and a little power play going on here. I loved how protective the MMC is of the FMC. Also, the step sibling thing can be an ick for some, but the step sibling trope is a late teenage years introduction, so they definitely weren't raised together. Just a heads up on that. I honestly loved this book and the dark themes weren't TOO dark. Kind dark light, or grey really. Anyways, hope this helps future readers/listeners!
