Historia
Renée Ballard and the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit get a hot shot DNA connection between a recently arrested man and a serial rapist and murderer who went quiet twenty years ago. The arrested man is only twenty-three, so the genetic link must be familial. It is his father who was the Pillowcase Rapist, responsible for a five-year reign of terror in the city of angels. But when Ballard and her team move in on their suspect, they encounter a baffling web of secrets and legal hurdles.

Character, character, character…

I’ve read all of Michael’s books, but I found the journey into Ballard and the flowering of Maddie was quite captivating. The performances were so aurally compelling made a great narrative. Thanks to you all. Sublime

Historia
Ten years ago, Marshall profiled a serial killer the press had dubbed the Shadow Man, who killed six young athletes at remote sites in cold blood, and he worked with Northumbria Police to catch the perpetrator. But the Shadow Man kept the burial locations of the final three bodies to himself. Tired of the passivity, Marshall quit profiling and joined the police. Now a detective inspector in Police Scotland’s Borders Major Investigation Team, Marshall is summoned to HMP Frankland in County Durham, a.k.a. the Monster Mansion.

Angus is the King.

Ed James certainly picked the right narrator for his DI Marshall series. A great story with a very late twist and Angus did a great job of managing all the characters.

Interesting first novel.
Revisado: 10-27-20
As a listener rather than a reader, the performance is critical. I don’t know if Ian Skewis has had much narration work, but it need a rhythm that helps with the story’s development. Secondly it’s not good in my mind to narrate your own work (unless you’re very experienced). A good narrator will take your story and give it a tweak, their experience and interpretation will enhance the writing. I look forward to the next. Congratulations.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
As always I'm very excited when a new installment of Morgan's trials is released. Once again as always Duke Fontaine's read is excellent, I think! Having worked for many years directing drama for the screen, it seemed as though it missed the editing phase. At times stilted, at times the rhythm was all over the place and made for a less than enjoyable experience. I still loved the narrative and won't t hesitate when the next hits the shelves. I do hope she's ok!
What was one of the most memorable moments of Enforcing Home?
The bee bomb-in-a-box.
What does Duke Fontaine bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He's Morgan's voice, we've been with him for a long time. When Corc O'conners voice changed I stopped listening. These people are the story.
Do you think Enforcing Home needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Well of course, the Sherrif and his Deputies need to rain pain down on the bad dudes who continue make Mel's life a misery, oh and everyone else's. Besides all the girls training will be in vain.
