Historia
Masters of Doom is the amazing true story of the Lennon and McCartney of video games: John Carmack and John Romero. Together, they ruled big business. They transformed popular culture. And they provoked a national controversy. More than anything, they lived a unique and rollicking American Dream, escaping the broken homes of their youth to produce the most notoriously successful game franchises in history - Doom and Quake - until the games they made tore them apart. This is a story of friendship and betrayal, commerce and artistry.

I really enjoy Will Wheaton's book narration/reading.
In the few books I've read about hackers, there was no reference to the original members of Id.

Historia
Carl Philipp Gottfried von Clausewitz died almost 200 years ago, yet he remains one of the most important and influential of all military thinkers. His teachings combined strategy with military knowledge to produce a dialectic approach to the philosophy of warfare, and his work is still widely taught in military academies around the world. There are few senior military leaders anywhere who are not familiar with his seminal book, On War.

I've had little experience with what I call classical writings. this is a nice introduction that I thought was very well done. the narration was some of the best I've ever heard.

I very much enjoyed this book. It's a read that'll bring tears to any man. Should be read by every boy and girl to inspire and see how real men should behave. Steven Weber does a wonderful job to make this audio-book enjoyable to listen over and over, again.

Revisado: 12-31-18
Story impossible, but hang on every word. Wil Wheaton is awesome. Writer tends to spout leftist propaganda: in this dystopian world the capitalist people are all evil. it's quite interesting to listen to an 18-year old tell all he's learned during his extensive lifespan

Historia
Few perspectives epitomize the sheer drama and sacrifice of combat more perfectly than those of the fighter pilots of World War II. As romanticized as any soldier in history, the World War II fighter pilot was viewed as larger than life: a dashing soul waging war amongst the clouds. In the 65-plus years since the Allied victory, stories of these pilots' heroics have never been in short supply. But what about their adversaries - the highly skilled German aviators who pushed the Allies to the very brink of defeat?

Fantastic book!
Revisado: 10-04-18
At first I didn't care for the narrator's rendering of this book; however, as I listened to his expert narration and pronunciation of the German ranks and names, I came to really enjoy how this book was presented. I very much enjoyed hearing the stories of Adolf Galland and this previously unknown to me pilot named Marseille. I also enjoyed hearing the story of the pilot rebellion against Goering. It was so special to hear it in the words of the pilots themselves. It's almost as if they had this burden for the world to know of their experiences. Now I'm ready to listen it through, again!

Revisado: 04-21-17
Very even-handed presentation on the life of RR. Disappointed there was no mention of 1. SDI & the arms race with the Soviet Union that was instrumental in forcing her demise 2. The dramatic cut in capital gains tax that freed up an incredible amount of money that could be invested in the economy 3. The establishment of IRAs so people would benefit from investing, providing funds for business venture also fueling the economy.

General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Revisado: 04-15-17
In my humble opinion ... the best telling of Patton's later life. I initially was frustrated not believing I wanted to listen completely through the book, but I stuck with it and was rewarded with the feeling that I've read/listened to a great book.

Historia
Autumn 1944. World War II is nearly over in Europe but is escalating in the Pacific, where American soldiers face an opponent who will go to any length to avoid defeat. The Japanese army follows the samurai code of Bushido, stipulating that surrender is a form of dishonor. Killing the Rising Sun takes listeners to the bloody tropical-island battlefields of Peleliu and Iwo Jima and to the embattled Philippines, where General Douglas MacArthur has made a triumphant return and is plotting a full-scale invasion of Japan.
