I never thought I would live to see the day where I gave a Galaxy's Edge book anything other than a 5 star review. Mark Boyett is awful. He is so vanilla and monotone that the characters all sound alike. The story is good, and I love hearing the back story, but it is almost unlistenable. I may be a little biased towards Bob, but even the books that Ray Porter narrated were a perfect substitute. I know i'm not alone in this, and I don't know what you guys were thinking.

I've been a GE fan since the beginning. It's my favorite. And this book was just as good as all the rest.
I'm glad this was a two parter. The wait made it sooo much better. The way it started "Perfect". The way it ended "Unforgettable".
Oh ya.........

Could not finish the first book in the series

If you're detail oriented this is a hard pass.

First of all I would like to give credit where credit is due here. Kevin Pierce did a fantastic job as usual.
That being said….
I am hypercritical when it comes to the details. More than once I felt like the author was winging it instead of doing his research. I'm sure there's a lot of folks out there who aren't as put off by this as much as I am..
But I also felt like the author was mailing it in. There were plenty of times throughout the story that I thought to myself well why would he do that or why would the author say it like that.
The characters felt empty, the storyline is super predictable and the conversation felt scripted.
I literally couldn't even make it through 16 chapters of the 1st book.
Would not recommend...
I'm getting my credit back.

Predictable

It being free was cool and Ray Porter is really good. But! This book is really really predictable and the storyline drags on and on. Same old same old through the entire book. If you're looking to kill time it's a good filler between credits but I would not recommend anybody spend money on this book. Got to the end and couldn't even make it through the sneak peak of book 2 . I will not be listening to the rest of the series. It's really sad because Ray Porter is so good.

Seriously folks they did it again.. But is it really a surprise. Between Jeremy's weirdly creative brain and Bob's endless ability to make a story feel alive. It's no wonder they keep cranking out the Audible hits. It's worth a credit or cash, a true must read. Take my advice, drink the coolaid and enjoy.
