Historia
Kate Rees, a young American markswoman, has been recruited by British intelligence to drop into Paris with a dangerous assignment: assassinate the Fuhrer. Wrecked by grief after a Luftwaffe bombing killed her husband and infant daughter, she is armed with a rifle, a vendetta, and a fierce resolve. But other than rushed and rudimentary instruction, she has no formal spy training. Thrust into the red-hot center of the war, a country girl from rural Oregon finds herself holding the fate of the world in her hands.

This story is written in a quirky way. I found it humerous and fast moving. tit was a refreshing change from the more serious novels I've been listening to.

Historia
In her debut memoir Never Alone: A Solo Arctic Survival Journey, Woniya shares how months of starving by herself in the Arctic wilderness brought more healing than suffering, and led to a deep sense of belonging and peace. Her story affirms the incredible strength of the human spirit and shows us that strength comes in many surprising forms. Never Alone's message is one of inspiration and learning to trust in ourselves and the land around us; embracing the wild and being wholly and beautifully human, flaws and all.

I thought the story was laid out well. giving background to how she came to be the knowledgeable practitioner she is. I loved her walk through of her difficult decisions showing her thought process. I bought this book on audible and listen to it nearly straight through. It is a fine story by a fine storyteller.

interesting take on the long life of witches.
Revisado: 12-07-23
I started this book to see if I could take the artificial voice naration. I was pleasantly surprised. it was not all that bad. Narration is still better when different characters have different inflections. The story was an interesting take on long life and magical changes that could be created. I found the overall feeling I was left with sad. it was a good story but not one of my favorites.

Then an enigmatic churchwoman enters his life, and Grog finds himself swept from the city which has been his entire world, to travel and learn amid as strange a group as he has ever seen. He knows nothing of the group's mission, just that his skills are necessary and the quest is "a good thing."
