NOW THAT TRUMP IS GONE, LEARN HOW HE MADE SCUM AMERICA THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE FORCE ON THE PLANET! Following in the footsteps of Aaron James's Assholes: A Theory, Scott McMurrey has applied the theory to Trump and his minions. The result is thorough lambasting of the people who put Trump in place and the even more reprehensible people who have come out of the shadows since Trump's election. McMurrey takes on the whole cadre of cretinous creatures who flocked to Trump, from the right-wing nutjobs left over from the Tea Party years to the slime who admired him from playing a mogul on TV to the ...

Saying the truth out loud.
Revisado: 09-18-24
This book is a call to arms. There are many people who will say this book is dangerous. The truth of the political history in the past fifty years shows what denial, greed and hate have done to the American people. This is the time to stand up, take action and vote.

So much story packed into such a small story. These people’s stories are vivid in there telling and ring true. Their limits and past experiences helps to cast a light at who they are, but does not limit who and what they will become.

This is a great tale that kept me hooked. So many great characters, human or otherwise. I almost came to like a couple of the villains. Having the author read his own work made the story more fun when I was listening.

Great to listen to and still do other tasks. I really liked having a the different cast voices rather than just a single voice narration. The tension is built by the multi voice narration. A cast read book is going to be a key factor in my future selections.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Why don't they get outta there?
Revisado: 11-12-18
The first chapter starts with a bang and the action keeps driving faster throughout the book to the last chapter. In this book are multiple plot-lines with believable and well developed characters. Mixed in are really nasty and insane bad guys, Sci-Fi and Black Ops all combined keeping me wanting to hear more. Will they survive this threat or the next, and what secrets are frozen in the ice. A story still feeling real enough to give me shudders well after I have finished listening. They say that the climate is warming. Will what's frozen in the ice now stay that way for very much longer?

I am glad to have listened to the whole book and not just picked up the paperback. Listening to his story unfold was much more enjoyable. Better, because, I wasn't able to keep flipping through pages to get to the next gossipy part.

Christmas 1913: In Britain, people are debating a new dance called ‘the tango’. In Germany, they are fascinated by the wedding of the Kaiser’s daughter to the Duke of Brunswick. Little did they know that their world was on ‘The Eve of War’, a catastrophe that was to engulf the continent, cost millions of lives, and change the course of the century. And yet behind the scenes, the Great Powers were marching towards what they thought was an inevitable conflict.

This is What Wasn't Taught in School.
Revisado: 04-26-18
This is a great read that gives you a broad and quick idea of the European leaders and the mind set that lead up to The Great War. A lot of statistical numbers are rattled off, but you'll get through it, and they are helpful with country by country comparisons. I had always wondered why these three cousins George, Nicholas and Wilhelm, did not just set down and hash things out? One may be King, Tsar, or Kaiser but ambition, paranoia and the state run bureaucracy was the true ruler here. Family ties could not and did not have influence on the actions taken in September 1914.

Any additional comments?
There isn't enough substance, in this book, to recommend it for you to read. I didn't like the character's voices, used by the actors, narrating the book. I had to prod myself three times to continue reading, hoping the good stuff was coming soon. That never happened for me.This is a book that had been given to much hype to a vanity piece written by an actor. He should swear off writing and stick to acting.

Didn't click for me.
Revisado: 04-06-18
Would you try another book from Mark de Castrique and/or William Dufris?
The story starts with a combat Veteran, healing from wounds, and meets another Veteran. There is this mystery and they come together to solve it.The contemporary Veteran characters held my interested with their interactions with each other. I was good with the story up to that point. Then a lost diary is introduced in to the plot. Now the focus changes and the diary is going to aid in the solving of the mystery. The kid in the diary did not add more interest for me. I found the story of him and his troubles boring to me, and the flashbacks to the diary were irritating. About this stage in the story I lost my interest. Either, to keep reading any further or where the story went from here, and quit reading.
