So helpful!
Revisado: 08-26-24
So incredibly helpful as I begin my journey as a play therapist. While clients have not become as aggressive as she talks about in this book, I feel prepared to handle it if they do.

Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie has been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But now, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she feels like royalty. Alas, she knows all enchantments must end when the clock strikes midnight.

Basically stole Ever After’s plot
Revisado: 05-20-24
Man if I was a copyright lawyer for Ever After I’d be eyeing this manuscript. It’s almost exactly the same story down to the pudgy but nice stepsister and the beautiful mean one. Almost DNF.

Historia
Ida Pederson was an executive at ‘Nyberg Shoreline’ when she was sent to the small Northern Irish village of Port Kriel to diffuse tensions between the company and the local community. When an unexploded bomb was identified on the seabed near Nyberg’s windfarm, Ida sent a local crew of eight men to investigate. That night, only two men returned home, barely alive and unable to speak of what had happened out at sea.

What on earth?!
Revisado: 05-15-24
What on earth did I just listen to?! Bizarre storyline, extreme over-acting, and a foley artist that was determined to use every sound effect in their library at level 11. Pass on this one.

Historia
Patrick, or Gay Uncle Patrick (GUP, for short), has always loved his niece, Maisie, and nephew, Grant. That is, he loves spending time with them when they come out to Palm Springs for weeklong visits, or when he heads home to Connecticut for the holidays. But in terms of caretaking and relating to two children, no matter how adorable, Patrick is, honestly, overwhelmed. So when tragedy strikes and Maisie and Grant lose their mother and Patrick's brother has a health crisis of his own, Patrick finds himself suddenly taking on the role of primary guardian.

Maybe I have a different definition of confounding?
Revisado: 04-18-24
This was incredibly boring. A solid half of the book was spent discussing different religions, which doesn’t interest me. None of the other topics were interesting either. A waste of time. At least it was free?

Soothing voice, terrible writing
Revisado: 03-21-24
The narrator does a beautiful job, and is one of my favorite narrators for these relaxing/bedtime stories. She has a wonderful depth and warmth to her voice, and uses a nice pace.
However, I couldn’t relax because the writing was just… terrible. It’s like the author was trying to fulfill a minimum word requirement, and used personification and overly descriptive details to pad it. I finally tapped out when the story’s narrator notices she is flushed from cooking and says it’s like she’s the cousin of the tomatoes in the stew. 😬

Allow your mind to clear with the cleansing, high-pitched notes of tuning forks in different frequencies. The powerful bell-like sound helps create a spacious sense of calm as you prepare for sleep, like a refreshing reset button at the end of the day. In order to get the most out of your listening experience, pioneering sound therapist Sara Auster recommends you dim the lights and lie down or sit in a comfortable position with an eye mask and a blanket, silence any alerts or notifications, and use earphones.
