Historia
What are Upstanders? Let's start with this: They are the opposite of bystanders. They are problem solvers and protestors, students and parents, professionals and civic leaders. Some fight injustice; others fearlessly challenge the status quo. They are ordinary people who are making extraordinary differences in their communities and beyond. From Salt Lake City to Memphis to Baltimore, Upstanders remind us that participation in civic life has no bounds - and that we can all be the change we wish to see in the world.

Historia
Why exactly Charley Bordelon's late father left her eight hundred sprawling acres of sugarcane land in rural Louisiana is as mysterious as it was generous. Recognizing this as a chance to start over, Charley and her 11-year-old daughter, Micah, say good-bye to Los Angeles. They arrive just in time for growing season but no amount of planning can prepare Charley for a Louisiana that's mired in the past: as her judgmental but big-hearted grandmother tells her, cane farming is always going to be a white man's business.

Historia
In The Righteous Mind, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt explores the origins of our divisions and points the way forward to mutual understanding. His starting point is moral intuition - the nearly instantaneous perceptions we all have about other people and the things they do. These intuitions feel like self-evident truths, making us righteously certain that those who see things differently are wrong. Haidt shows us how these intuitions differ across cultures, including the cultures of the political left and right.

Missing so much
Revisado: 02-28-18
The sample draws you into the book, but as you travel in the author's voice is less than stimulating. Many of the topics are interesting. I believe they are dissected with great effort.
Although I don't feel the premise is ever reached. It maybe that we have so much to learn about moral psychology.
I also sense a narrow perspective and bias tone from the author. For example a lack of racial morality. Then again, much of his research took place in Charlottesville Virginia.
