Historia
Before Gary Clark Jr.’s first major-label album even debuted, the music world had already labeled him the rightful torchbearer of the blues. In his new Audible Original, Deep Soul Lowdown, the soft-spoken Texas guitar hero unpacks the gravity (and limitations) of such towering expectations as he recounts his astonishing life journey from teenage phenomenon to inheritor of the very mantle of his mentors.

Just Okay
Revisado: 12-18-22
I was expecting a lot more. Although the line Clark Jr. used about Austin being a "velvet rut" was a good line, and true. I'm glad I had a couple hours to listen to his story and learn a few things about Clark Jr. and his career.

Amazing Grace
Revisado: 12-13-22
I really enjoyed this book. I usually read (listen) to poltical or history books that I may learn some new. This book touched my ❤️ in so many ways, and as I finished the book I too wondered what my divine mission is. I talk to God on a regular basis but, I learned that I should listen more and talk less. Thank you Harris Faulkner for writing this book. It moved a mountain for me.

Ever wonder what you would say or do if you didn’t give a f--k? Adam Carolla can tell you. In his sixth book, the comedian, podcaster, and provocateur does what he does best—doles out advice and opinions with utter disregard for our politically correct, self-righteous, virtue signaling, woke times.

When you just want to laugh
Revisado: 10-29-22
Ace Man aways delivers on his sharp, witty, and often time hard truths commentary. I usually listen to history books, and the occasional book on politics. Once in a while I need to listen to a book that allows me to just sit back, not think, and just laugh.

Historia
Jared Kushner was one of the most consequential presidential advisers in modern history. For the first time, he recounts what happened behind closed doors during the Trump presidency. Few White House advisors have had such an expansive portfolio or constant access to the president. From his office next to Trump, senior adviser Jared Kushner operated quietly behind the scenes, preferring to leave the turf wars and television sparring to others.

Revisado: 10-12-22
This is one of the best books I've ever read (listened) to on the inter-workings of the White House. Kushner captures every moment of the challenges of his time in government in a way that makes you want to know more. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
Conventional wisdom suggests there is a sharp distinction between emotion and reason. Emotions are seen as inferior, disruptive, primitive, and even bestial forces. These 24 remarkable lectures suggest otherwise-that emotions have intelligence and provide personal strategies that are vitally important to our everyday lives of perceiving, evaluating, appraising, understanding, and acting in the world.

Not Recommend
Revisado: 09-12-22
The lectures were full repetitive observations and got a little dull about two thirds the way through the course. The Professor was a little boring at times, and I had to make myself listen to him, especially midway through the course. The final three or four lectures were by far the worse.

Malcolm Gladwell has long relished the opportunity to skewer the upper echelons of higher education, from the institution of U.S. News & World Report’s Best College rankings to the LSATs to the luxe Bowdoin College cafeteria. I Hate the Ivy League: Riffs and Rants on Elite Education, upends the traditional thinking around how education should work and tries to get to the bottom of why we often reward the wrong people.

Opened My Eyes
Revisado: 08-07-22
At first I didn't know if I would enjoy this book since I never had to send a child to school. However, the more I listened the more I learned. Malcolm Gladwell is a very persistent person in his search for the truth. I will definitely read/listen to more of his books.

Historia
It wasn’t long ago that liberal icons, including the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, were against the idea of overhauling the court for political gain. But now, in the Biden era, more and more powerful Democrats are getting behind the cause, claiming the high court is broken and actively dismantling our democracy. Even Joe Biden—who once called court-packing a “bonehead idea”—gave in to the progressive wing of his party, appointing a committee to examine “reforms” to the court after being sworn in as president.

Historia
It's February 1964 and The Beatles just landed in New York City, where the NYPD, swarms of fans, and a crowd of two hundred journalists await their first American press conference. It begins with the question on everyone's mind: "Are you going to get a haircut in America?" and ends with a reporter tugging Paul McCartney's hair in an attempt to remove his nonexistent wig. This is where The History of Rock & Roll, Volume 2 kicks off.

Lost me in the end
Revisado: 06-26-22
The book was interesting until the few chapters . The author neglected a lot of good bands that were big in the early 70's as he he continued to focused on John Lennon, Bob Dillon, The Band, The Grateful Dead and other Folk artists. Also, working in the industry in the 70's & 80's some of the stories about record labels didn't ring true. The book treated the man with the golden ear, Clive Davis as an aftert thought instead of the legend he is.

The man who won the Pulitzer Prize for GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS, who wrote the classic films THE VERDICT and WAG THE DOG sounds his alarm about the Visigoths at our gates. In RECESSIONAL he calls out, skewers, mocks, and, most importantly, dissects the virus of conformity which is now an existential threat to the West. A broad-ranging journey through history, the Bible, and literature, RECESSIONAL examines how politics and cultural attitudes about rebellion have shifted in the United States in the last generation.

Tough Listen But Worth Your Time
Revisado: 06-01-22
David Mamet has and extensive vocabulary so you may have to stop and look up a few words while listening to this book. However, that is a small price to pay for the words of wisdom the Aurhor gives throughout the book. And, I think you need be a certain age, maybe 50+ to truly understand the complexity of this book.
