Real characters!
Revisado: 08-17-24
Love that the characters are real, vulnerable and overcome their obstacles with faith in action. I also enjoy the tension and crisp way Lisa writes. Some faith authors write baby roller-coasters, but Lisa's has speed and twists that make reading more fun.

Historia
I quit my job. I walked away from everything I knew. I couldn't lose anyone else. Not again. Working for James Martin wasn't supposed to be complicated or lethal. Too bad someone wanted him dead, and I was the only thing standing in the way. When eccentric playboy CEO James Martin's life is threatened, he decides to hire Alexis Parker, an attractive, feisty, former federal agent, to be his new security consultant and personal bodyguard.

Can't wait for the rest!
Revisado: 04-11-24
I don't know about everyone else, but I have to have audible to do the things (housework, grocery shopping, etc.). The narrators can make or break my level of escapism. Amy Deuchler is perfect for this series. Just enough snark without disrupting the flow of the story. There's enough of a difference between characters that makes it cool. I can't wait for the whole series!

Revisado: 11-22-21
Getting my Masters in counseling required both practicum and internship hours prior to licensing, taking the NCE and graduating. Every state has a mental health licensing board and they are different. Also, the narrator is apparently not familiar with the terms and sounds stilted. Sorry, I just can't finish this.

Historia
Inspector Treadles, Charlotte Holmes’ friend and collaborator, has been found locked in a room with two dead men, both of whom worked with his wife at the great manufacturing enterprise she has recently inherited. Rumors fly. Had Inspector Treadles killed the men because they had opposed his wife’s initiatives at every turn? Had he killed in a fit of jealous rage because he suspected Mrs. Treadles of harboring deeper feelings for one of the men? To make matters worse, he refuses to speak on his own behalf, despite the overwhelming evidence against him.

Surprizingly wonderful.
Revisado: 11-12-19
I've never been a fan of WWI as a time period. I hate to say it, but I felt it was almost boring compared to other times. Roseanna M. White and Susan Lyons have completely changed my perspective with this delightfully intriguing book. It flows beautifully, keeps true to the characters personalities and fascinates. I noticed it was book 1 and can't wait for the next and the next!

Dream Team!
Revisado: 11-12-19
Anything by Tamar Leigh is at the top of my list of best books to read ever. Driving an hour to work means I can indulge in the creative voice of Mary Sarah Agliotta as I travel back in time to faraway lands and battles of the physical, emotional and spiritual. I may have a slightly different accent when I get to work... 'hmm, listening to those books again, huh?' Then the hand comes up and I'm forbidden from giving spoilers. Oh well. If you haven't listened, you can't believe what you're missing. I almost wish there was a genogram for the family somewhere though. Maybe I'll make one...until the next series comes out.

Historia
Survival. A Hebrew girl first tasted it when she escaped death nearly 70 years ago as the Babylonians ransacked Jerusalem and took their finest as captives. She thought she'd perfected in the many years among the Magoi and the idol worshipers, pretending with all the others in King Nebuchadnezzar's court. Now, as Daniel's wife and a septuagenarian matriarch, Belili thinks she's safe and that she can live out her days in Babylon without fear - until the night Daniel is escorted to Belshazzar's palace to interpret mysterious handwriting on a wall.

Read and Share!
Revisado: 11-12-19
Sometimes an author comes along that takes you to places you long to visit. They lead you into a vision of what life could have been and you feel, hear and even smell things that start as words on a page. Mesu Andrews has a rare gift. In this possible view of Daniel's life, she has woven all the 'feels' into an honest testimony of faith - the kind that isn't always pretty, but does point to the Master. I hope everyone grabs this and shares it with someone who wonders... It is no wonder she was nominated for a Christy award!

Revisado: 10-26-18
Many authors claim creative license for grossly inaccurate heresies. I am highly impressed and touched by the beauty, plausibility and courage of Ms Cossette's trilogy. I am impressed and inspired and pray others read these books and re-discover the present day "manna" of the Word... (What a great reminder!)

Authentic and Honest
Revisado: 10-23-17
It is great to read about honest characters, timely and realistic situations with quality and creativity. Janice Cantore has a great style that excites and entertains. The truth in the story is the public does not know all the particulars in a case, just what is reported - to make a staunch judgement based on that limited information is foolish and dangerous. This is one of those writers that I will buy without hesitation - I do listen to the narrator sample first. I have to say, Alice Anne English is one of the best.
Thanks again for a great read!
