Good prepper fantasy, well worth the read and the price. virtual voice narration is good enough, it brings books to the table that i wouldn't otherwise have access to.

Compelling tale, conflicted reviewer...
Revisado: 06-09-17
Long ago i cut my teeth on long fantasy series, the longer the better as i didn't want to leave that world behind when the last page ended.
This book (though well written and a tale i needed to hear the end of) was so dark and gloomy most of the time that i felt only relief when it ended...and yet...i may well read the next in the series because the tale does go on and i have to hope the next book may have some sunshine, laughter, happiness...something this book lacked even if it was true to the story being told.
The story was interesting, the world well crafted, the characters well written and felt real...the narration was great and matched the gloomy tone of the story being told and provided that was the intent then the narration was five star.
Some will love this book and some will not, just like every book ever written...my words here may or may not sway you one way or another but it's an honest opinion.

Another five star book in a unique series.
Revisado: 04-06-17
This series is absolutely brilliant and unique making it stand out in a genre being overrun with limited or duplicative imaginings of late...i love it's originality and character development, this series technology is a potent reminder that any tech advanced enough seems like magick and our cast of characters learning and not having a full understanding of it is well incorporated into the plot, so much so that all three books so far have been filled with discovery and kept my eyes and imagination glued to it.

A good book in print.
Revisado: 09-16-16
I read and enjoyed the kindle edition but the audible version is an editing disaster...the narrator does a good enough job but the editing is choppy and lines repeat among other problems.
Even with the editing issues it's a worthy book that held my interest even through the problems. If you're one of those people who can't handle mistakes in editing you might ait for an updated version. There are several books in the series and this is the first and only on audible at the moment. I hope more come and the editing improves.

A modern master, Kevin Hearne's writing is great!
Revisado: 02-03-16
I have rarely enjoyed any author as much as i enjoy Kevin...his stories are seriously funny and it's one you can't stop reading. I love this series, i love the characters and the plotlines...and while the written version is great the Audible version is Phenomenal...Luke Daniels is perhaps the greatest orator in the industry, Oberon is a literary character that comes to life thanks to Luke and i hear him in my head making wry and funny commentary in my daily life
BUY THIS ONE!
If you haven't heard the series start at the first book and enjoy this amazing series!!!

Epic...hard starter but pays in the end.
Revisado: 04-06-15
This is a long book but any good epic is, it took some time to become involved in the story and i almost gave up...i'm glad i didn't. For those with patience it's worth the credit or even cash purchase, for those with no patience move on...this is the kind of book that requires an investment of time on the reader's part before it comes together...for me anyway.
