the virtual voice is getting much better these days. it has glitches but over the short duration of this audio presentation are not too distracting. a huge improvement. I still rather have a voice actor.
the covid information was and is slanted and dangerous.
the rest was mostly good advise

Historia
Few know the warship’s actual name. But everyone has heard the rumors. The PUV James Keeling can do something no other vessel in existence can do—slip into another dimension, travel undetected, then re-emerge onto our plane and surprise enemy targets. But the thing that makes the Crypt unique also makes it a nightmare for those onboard; interdimensional travel causes hallucinations, violent behavior, and psychotic breakdowns. Keeling could be the Union’s greatest weapon, a game-changing asset that can defeat the bloodthirsty zealots of the Purist Nation, the Union’s mortal enemy.

what a ride
Revisado: 01-06-25
I had lost track of Scott Siglar. used to listen during his early Podiobooks podcast days.
Scott takes an improbable situation and makes it fascinating. this raw story is simply unputdownable.
Ray Porter is the perfect performer for this book.

Historia
Into Enemy Waters is the story of World War II's most elite and daring unit of warriors, the direct precursors to the Navy SEALs, told through the eyes of its last living member, ninety-five-year-old George Morgan. Morgan was just a wiry, seventeen-year-old lifeguard from New Jersey when he joined the Navy's new combat demolition unit, tasked to blow up enemy coastal defenses ahead of landings by allied forces. His first assignment: Omaha Beach on D-Day. When he returned stateside, Morgan learned that his service was only beginning.

this is a fascinating story of the development of the UDT and subsequent SpecOps and SEALS traing and functions. this is a hard to put down reports of a few persons journey through the happenstance of war to stop a frightful series of enemies.
as always the dulcet tones of Basil Sands make this a smooth easy listen

In this fascinating audio documentary Aykroyd “gets the band back together”, taking listeners on a road trip through time—from late nights in the early days with John Belushi at Dan’s speakeasy in Toronto, to working with blues legends Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Ray Charles on The Blues Brothers movie, through the founding of House of Blues, the Blues Brothers 2000 sequel, and beyond.

Bought it for the 'burgh elements and enjoyed -- A
Revisado: 06-24-24
I enjoyed the story and all the quirks. Since it started as a burgh thing I enjoyed driving through the parts the burgh I knew and followed all the way to east livervppmol Ohio. Story was well worth the read and unfortunately because Virtual Voice needs a review I am short changing mr Shotter's truly entertaining work of space opera on earth.
I used to try and listen to LibreVox audiobooks but really could not handle the choppy computer voice. 309 was read by Virtual Voice. A very pleasant female voice that did surprisingly well overall. If I hadn't known it was virtual I wouldd have picked it up daily quickly d/t see . One benefit I heard was the intense moments are more low key that is there were a human voice actor - I do get tired of screechy voiced in my head. There were some words that were tripped over or verbalized much differently than a human native English speaker.. sound quality varies by section - I;d be moving along at one volume then there was a cut and the volume went up 5 points for no apparent reason.
I would be happy to listen to outhe books voiced by virtual voice but only if there is a pool created to provide some nature of payment to the usual cadre of voice actors who could not get the gig because of the computer generated voice is doing a job they used to do with emotion and aplomb who mow are fighting for fewer and fewer story telling gigs!.
