Great narration and healing story

This book was a very compelling listen because the characters were very well developed and the growth of the main love interests was organic. I’m looking forward to getting the continuation of it to see how Lucian and Oliver grow together.

Disappointing Main Character

I really like Mariana Zapata’s books, so I was expecting to enjoy this one too. I sadly did not like this book at all and the main reason is the main character Luna. She is extremely annoying and very weak, but not just an inner weak, she has to talk about it in her head all of the time. I’d say a good 70 percent of the book was just Luna blaming herself for everything and wishing she was less weak, and after a few hours of hearing this nonsense I couldn’t help but agree with her sentiments of wanting to be different. It would have made the story better. Being a martyr and always taking shit from everyone aren’t personality traits, and I feel like that’s why this character feels so superficial. I had to stop listening to the book twice for long periods of time because I just got fed up with how annoying she was. If I didn’t have a need to finish everything that I start, then I would have stopped listening to this long ago. My advice: don’t read this book unless you enjoy annoying people that always have bad things following them around, mostly because of their actions or inability to express a sincere thought.

Nick and Bellrose Spin-Off?

I love this series, and I am currently shipping Nick and Bellrose so hard in my head, can we please get a spin off with them? Nick is more dependent now, and all Bellrose wants to do is be useful to someone. It sounds like a match made in my head. Hopefully this could happen. Anyway, love the book.

It was hard listening to the narrator

The narration was very off putting and I expected more from a longer series like this. There was absolutely no emotion or changes between the male and female characters. It was basically 1 tone the whole time.

Decent Athlete Romance Story

The story was definitely a slow burner, where most of the romance was in the last hour of the book. I really liked Lukov but the main character Meatball was extremely annoying to listen to. The voice acting was good, but the character was just written to be extremely annoying both inside and outside of her head. I definitely prefer and recommend the story Kulti from Mariana Zapata, it’s one of my favorites from her.

Could have been better

The writing is very simple and overly detailed. It feels like the narrator is reading to a child, which I am not. The inner dialogue that the characters have almost every other line is extremely childish and normally just restates what was said in the previous lines.

Nice Heated Scenes

I really like Donovan (spelling?) and how broken and calculating he is, but Sabrina is an extremely annoying character. I feel like if she was stronger and could actually give him hell when he did something wrong, then he would learn to do better, but she is such a pushover. I took off 2 stars for the story because it’s all from her point of view and she’s helpless.

I Loved This Book

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this story at first, but I am sooo glad that I started listening to it. The characters are fully developed and likable and the world that is written around them is fully realized so it is easy to make a mental image of their surroundings. Throughout the story both of the main characters grow and develop new thoughts and feeling about different situations and ideas which changes how they react to similar situations they reacted to in the beginning of the book. I love how compatible the characters are for each other, it gives you a sense that they were made for each other and meant to be together. I absolutely adored Axel, because unlike a lot of other main characters in these types of stories, he is smart and understanding. He is able to learn and work with Bayden to help him to trust someone and rely on another person. The way that he is able to interpret Baydens actions and his reasons for doing the things he does is masterful. I’m am very happy that I was able to listen to a story written as well as this one. I am definitely going to be reading more books by this author in the future.

Good sex scenes

This book had very well written sex scenes, but when the two were interacting in a normal way it got way too sappy and cheesy throughout most of he book. Good overall story though.
