Historia
In The Anxious Generation, social psychologist Jonathan Haidt lays out the facts about the epidemic of teen mental illness that hit many countries at the same time. He then investigates the nature of childhood, including why children need play and independent exploration to mature into competent, thriving adults. Haidt shows how the “play-based childhood” began to decline in the 1980s, and how it was finally wiped out by the arrival of the “phone-based childhood” in the early 2010s.

Historia
The Vedas are a large body of religious literature that dates back to ancient India. Written in Vedic Sanskrit, the writings form the earliest stratum of Sanskrit literature and the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. Rigveda, Yajurveda, Samaveda, and Atharvaveda are the four main Vedas. This book guides and offers the reader with a grasp of the theological place, purpose, and spiritual essence of the Vedas as well as other additional texts that constitute a whole.

The overview was solid but could benefit from reinforcing the concepts via more practical or even historical examples to support the concepts

Outstanding summary of research
Revisado: 02-29-24
Leslie does a fantastic job of integrating a skeptical approach to this topic while also educating the reader on the history of research related to these phenomena. Told from a personal perspective but with some chapters written & read by experts in the field it was so compelling, I listened twice.

Historia
As one of the strategists behind the famous 2012 RNC “autopsy,” Miller conducts his own forensic study on the pungent carcass of the party he used to love, cutting into all the hubris, ambition, idiocy, desperation, and self-deception for everyone to see. In a bracingly honest reflection on both his own past work for the Republican Party and the contortions of his former peers in the GOP establishment, Miller draws a straight line between the actions of the 2000s GOP to the Republican political class's Trumpian takeover, including the horrors of January 6th.

Signs, Signs, everywhere are Signs
Revisado: 03-12-22
I saw Laura Lynne on a Netflix program and felt compelled to try to reach out for her & that’s when I was lead to ‘Signs’. I felt like she put into words so many things I have pondered. This book affirms things I have known in my heart since I was young when it was introduced to them by my Grandmother & Mother.
I have been lucky enough to experience Synchronicity periodically throughout my life but it was a college buddy, who died in 9/11 that allowed my wife & I to raise our children with a guardian angel watching over & sending Signs to let us know he’s still got out backs.
LLJ does an amazing job of helping us all be on the lookout for subtle but unmistakeable occurrences that feed your soul & allow you to connect with departed loved ones.
Take the time to read it but more importantly follow the guidance she gives, it will allow you to open up emotions & connections we all should experience.
Thanks for sharing your gifts & letting the spirit use you!!!

Wow, That was fun. A legendary tale written by a great storyteller. Mark Synott’s experience as a climber and first hand perspective on Alex Honnold’s free solo makes for a great listen. The history of climbing & description of the climbing ethos were really helpful in setting the stage for a first hand account of Mountain climbing’s moon landing. Nice performance by Mark Dawkins as well.
