Historia
We are living in crazy times. Biological men are competing and winning against biological women in sports. The newest Supreme Court justice declined to answer the simple question: “What is a woman?” Record numbers of young Americans now identify as transgender. Sexually explicit materials permeate schools. Pedophiles have rebranded as “minor-attracted persons.” Pastor and bestselling author Voddie T. Baucham Jr. equips Christians to fight back against this pervasive sexual identity ideology and stand firm in biblical truths.

A Fearless Preacher and Scholar
Revisado: 09-19-24
Dr. Baucham addresses an issue so many are happy to overlook. He presents the facts about the current attempts to highjack the civil rights movement by the LGBTQIA+ movement and progressive politicians. There is no hate or disdain in his writing but he stands firm on the Scriptures. The biggest disappointment was the gentleman reading the story. it was clear he was not familiar with the author or subject matter. So many mispronounced words made it difficult to make it through to the end. It would not be terrible if the publisher found another reader and reproduce the audiobook.

“An excellent small group study.” – Rev. Travis Knoll In a time of upheaval in the largest denomination of the Methodist movement, this classic explanation and defense of Methodist Christianity by its founder is required reading. Pastor David Wentz has updated Wesley’s 18th-century language, deleted references to no-longer-relevant theological disputes, and added an introduction that sets the work in context. The result is a clear, easy to read text that is enjoyable and understandable for modern readers of all levels of theological interest and expertise. This short book is ideal ...

Atheism is on the march in the western world, and its enemy is God. And if religion is the problem with the world, their answer is simple: Get rid of it. But are things really so straightforward? Tackling the likes of Richard Dawkins, Stephen Hawking, Christopher Hitchens, and Daniel Dennett head on, John Lennox highlights the fallacies in the their approach, arguing that their irrational and unscientific methodology leaves them guilty of the same obstinate foolishness of which they accuse dogmatic religious folks.

Written in a manner that is easy to understand. Gunning for God allows Dr. Lennox the opportunity to expound on the foundations for his belief in God and His, Jesus. Since deconstruction and atheism are becoming more prevalent, this is the type of book that prepares one for challenges.

Historia
Christmas is the single biggest annual event on the planet, a time for merry-making, over-indulgence, peace, goodwill, and the occasional family row. It’s as comfortable and familiar as a pair of old shoes and yet still glittery and exciting. But what do you really know about it? It’s stuffed full of traditions and rituals that most of us have been observing all our lives without having the slightest idea of where they come from.

A Campaign to Completey Secularize Christmas
Revisado: 03-14-23
All I can take away from this work is the evident disdain for any attachment of Christmas to Christianity. The author takes every opportunity to explain away any Christian influence on the holiday. it's not enough to throw stones at the Christian celebration of Christmas, but they seem to attempt to discredit the faith altogether by trying to find every possible point to cast doubts. No new information can be gleaned from this work.

Charles Kuralt is one of those personalities that just puts you in the mood to listen. As I sat listening I could almost see each story on a tube television during a broadcast of CBS Sunday Morning.

insight on the man from the man
Revisado: 07-07-19
First let me say that I'm a true fan of the Charlie Daniels band. I've admired the man himself for a number of years for his convictions and his abilities. However, I had no idea that his writing abilities as an author were so down-to-earth and remarkable. This is only surpassed by his skill and appeal as a narrator.

Historia
Sir John Penlyon is planning to spend Christmas at his estate with his niece and his friend Danby, the closest thing he has to family since disowning his daughter years ago. (She eloped with the parson, who was, of course, penniless.) Danby suggests that at Christmastime the estate needs the presence of small children, and offers to find some - the “hirelings” - despite Sir John’s skepticism. Three children duly arrive, and the youngest, precocious four year-old Moppet, quickly endears herself to Sir John.

A Pleasant Christmas Tale
Revisado: 02-12-19
Honestly, I did not know what to expect, but I love Christmas stories. The Dickensian/Victorian influence is undeniable and it does the genre honor. The concept of the "hireling" was pleasant and the softening of the Lord of the manor by the young Moppet was heartwarming and endearing. All in all, it is a good book for those that enjoy a good Christmas story that lifts the spirit and brightens the season. An additional item worth mentioning, the narrator is absolutely excellent.

Classic Zigler
Revisado: 02-12-19
Of course anyone that has been in the professional world in the last 40 years, knows the name Zig Zigler. He is without a doubt a sage among motivational speakers. I heard this many years ago and I wanted to renew the relationship. Unfortunately, I realized that time had definitely passed and it is more like entertainment with smatterings of motivational advice. Also, the nightingale.com info at the end of the recording is not of any use because the website does not exist anymore. All in all its worth a listen for the smiles and jewels you stand to gain.

Historia
In the early 19th century, two literary works appeared and helped shape Christmas. The first was a collection of stories by Washington Irving, entitled Sketch Book, from 1819. Next came "A Visit from St. Nicholas", a children's poem better known as “The Night Before Christmas”, which was published anonymously in 1823. The poem spread quickly and helped install a definitive image of Santa Claus in the popular imagination, with his sleigh, his eight reindeer (each one with a name), his red nose, and his journeys down chimneys to fill children's stockings with toys.

For some this may not have the "magical" appeal. However the information that is shared is amazing and holds a great deal of value. As a Santa portrayal artist, more is required in this age of information and this book came through with so much more than many others.
