Historia
After her second year at West Point, Missy returns to her Special Forces A-Team in Afghanistan for summer training. That soon leads to her being deployed into Iran and Syria. Her boyfriend, Mike, tells her that’s getting a little too real since she’s not just training over there. Then, for the first semester of her third year, she heads over to the Naval Academy to participate in the Service Academy Exchange Program. The idea is to make better leaders by promoting professional, academic and social experiences. But there are those who have other ideas about her being there.

Enjoyed the story
Revisado: 05-21-22
Summer Morton does an excellent job at narration. I have to say I enjoyed the last half of the story which dealt with Missy at Annapolis a bit more than the first half which dealt with and seemed to bring to a close Missys dealing with the middle east. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a book 10. It's been over a year since Missy Goes to Annapolis came out. I keep checking and hoping it will magically appear.

Reagan McClane is a prodigy med school student on the brink of a brilliant career, but the United States and the rest of the world are headed toward total economic and social collapse. And it doesn't take more than a few hours for mass crime, looting, and pillaging to spread across the country like a plague. A brutal attack at her university leads to a fight for her life before Reagan barely makes it home to the safety of her awaiting grandparents and sisters on their family farm in Tennessee.

I simply can't get into this story
Revisado: 09-08-19
I have other books by this author which I really liked. But there is something about this one that makes me feel like I'm on the outside looking in rather than being involved in the story. Plus the bringing of religion into the story also turns me off but that is a personal idiosyncrasy as I never feel it adds anything to a story. The underlying story may be very good but I just can't get past the way the story is told.

Now I only wish that the rest of the series were also on audible. I really do enjoy these stories of intelligent alien ships looking for crews. I can easily recommend it as a good enjoyable read.

overall a good story
Revisado: 01-13-18
Overall it was a good story and I liked the ending. After about the first two chapters the good ole boy accent didn't bother me anymore, basically I'm saying I got used to it and started enjoying listening to the narration. Since I am non-religous one of the downsides of the story for me was the unnecessary use of religion in the book. Although it was minor enough I might be to overlook it in considering if I want to buy the next book. Another was the use of chewing tobacco which was almost enough to make me gag since I literally hate that affectation having had to work with someone who left spit cups sitting around. IT kinda turned me off. I may give the next a try but even minor talk of spit cups or spitting a in cup had me shuddering.

Historia
Lieutenant Callum Harper hadn't intended on punching his commanding officer quite so hard. But maybe it wasn't such a bad turn of events. Court-martialed and dumped on a reject raft bound for Earth, Cal feels optimistic about a life where getting blown up, shot, or even eaten is altogether less of a concern. And, more importantly, a life where the only person he's responsible for is himself.
