Historia
Translating God serves as an inspirational guide book that puts God's great love back into prophetic ministry as a primary goal full of real life stories that articulate the culture of love behind God's heart for the prophetic. So much of the prophetic ministry is esoteric, but this book brings balance without taking away the desire to see the powerful nature of God displayed. On top of that, it's biblically based and is supported by scripture throughout each story.

Practical, Real & Impacting
Revisado: 07-15-17
I love how simply and powerfully he is able to drive home the power and purpose of the prophetic... to connect someone with the love of the Father. I have many nuggets I will be chewing on for some time from this one. Thank you Shawn.

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their successes over and over? People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why.

Could Not Get Past Reader's Performance
Revisado: 03-11-15
The reader performance was unbearable. I could not make it even past the first chapter. Probably a good concept and story, but be sure and listen to sample first. If his voice doesn't turn you away, it may be fine...

Historia
Stephen Mansfield, the acclaimed New York Times best-selling author, has highlighted the growing popularity of Mormonism—a belief system with cultic roots—and the implications of its critical rise. Mormons are moving into the spotlight in pop culture, politics, sports, and entertainment via presidential candidates like Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman, media personality Glenn Beck, mega-bestselling Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, and The Book of Mormon, the hottest show on Broadway.

Very Well Done
Revisado: 08-18-14
This book was exactly what I was hoping for... a somewhat objective outsider's view of LDS. I felt like Mansfield presented the facts of the history of Mormons in a fair and honest light, pointing out the good and the bad of the church and its history without attempt to shame or discredit the "saints".
"The Mormon people have often been better than their leaders and the doctrines they have been given." I particularly liked this quote in the book.

Historia
The quiet 1960s midwestern life of the Land family is upended when son Davy kills two marauders who have come to harm the family. The morning of his sentencing, Davy (a hero to some, a cold-blooded murderer to others) escapes from his cell, and the Lands set out in search of him. Their journey is touched by serendipity and the kindness of strangers, and they cover territory even more extraordinary than the Badlands, where they search for Davy from their Airstream trailer.

A Must Read Classic
Revisado: 07-31-12
I could not begin to do justice to this story or to say how incredible the writing without gushing into useless babble. Suffice it to say, this is the best original story I've read (listened to) in years. Easily in the realm of "classic" that includes such great stories as "To Kill a Mockingbird" or Huck Finn... Do yourself a favor and get this book!

Historia
It’s amateur hour at the White House. So says New York Times best-selling author Edward Klein in his political exposé The Amateur. Tapping into the public’s growing sentiment that President Obama is in over his head, The Amateur argues that Obama’s toxic combination of incompetence and arrogance has run our nation and his presidency off the rails.

This was a very well written book. It tells the true behind the scenes story of the man behind the curtain. It reveals him for the narcissist he really is.

Historia
A definitive, deeply moving narrative, Bonhoeffer is a story of moral courage in the face of the monstrous evil that was Nazism. After discovering the fire of true faith in a Harlem church, Bonhoeffer returned to Germany and became one of the first to speak out against Hitler. As a double agent, he joined the plot to assassinate the Führer and was hanged in Flossenbürg concentration camp at age thirty-nine. Since his death, Bonhoeffer has grown to be one of the most fascinating, complex figures of the twentieth century.

Undone, Awakened, Sobered
Revisado: 05-19-11
I am only thru the first two parts, and waiting for the final part to finish downloading as I type this. I am completely undone by the strength of the resolve of this man in the face of one of the worst atrocities mankind has experienced. Talk about a man who lived this life to the fullest impact possible.
I could only hope that I would respond as well in the face of persecution as he did. I'm not sure how I will be changed by his life, but I can tell that the Lord is doing something very deep in me as I hear his story.
My spirit is awakened and sobered.

Historia
"Years ago, I wrote about a retail store in the Palo Alto environs—a good one, which had a box of two-cent candies at the checkout. I subsequently remember that 'little' parting gesture of the two-cent candy as a symbol of all that is Excellent at that store. Dozens of people who have attended seminars of mine have come up to remind me, sometimes 15 or 20 years later, of “the two-cent candy story,” and to tell me how it had a sizable impact on how they did business."

Should have hired a Voice
Revisado: 07-16-10
Sorry to say, I just wasn't drawn in by the voice of the reader. I'm sure the content is probably decent, but I couldn't get past the delivery. Professional voice talent gives the feel of someone telling you a story... this felt like I was sitting in a locker room listening to some guy read the paper out loud.
