When it looks like it is about to go nuclear, they realize how close they are drawing the line between evacuation and sheltering in place. Historia
Before the lights went out, Jack Warrant never considered himself a prepper. That was someone on the edge, a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday cultist who had a fatalistic view of the world. He was neither a theorist nor a cultist. He was an optimist. At least that was what he told himself when the darker thoughts creeped into his psyche as he stared at the ceiling in the middle of the night. Whenever he started down the rabbit hole, he always clawed his way back into the sunlight.

Engaging But Recycled Take On EMPs
Revisado: 03-18-24
This story reminded me a lot of several other Audible titles covering EMP scenarios that were previously published. I’d add that it’s a little on the short side compared to those other books to spend an Audible credit on. That said, it’s been an engaging story and I’ll likely listen to the rest of the series. As usual, this narrator delivered a great performance.

Well written but plot is a slog
Revisado: 08-13-21
This story falls into the category of apocalyptic stories I call “The Slog.” The protagonists go through an endless series of tiring and painful trials for no particularly compelling reason. The story is artfully written and narrated, but I couldn’t care about any of the characters.
