Do NOT like Narrator (virtual voice)!

When I started listening, I wondered why the narrator was so bad. I then looked at who it was as noticed it was a Virtual Voice. It sounded very robotic. I hope this is not a sign of what is coming or I will have to cancel my membership.

Odd - I kept waiting for something to “happen”, but it never did

This was odd to me. It was a pleasant story, but was unusual because nothing really ever happened. It was more like a reading someone’s daily journal of everything they did each day, Pleasant, but anti-climatic.

Incredible series!

This series is so movie/tv worthy! I am an avid Audible listener and this book was the first time that I did a pre-order as I anxiously awaited the publish date. Truly, I cannot say enough about the writing, the story or the narrator….nothing g short of stupendous!

This series absolutely needs to be on TV!

I am feeling a bit guilty for not writing a review after each book. However, I have loved each one so much and have been so enthralled that I simply have not taken a moment to stop and write something. I am only doing so now because with the conclusion of Book 5, I am now at the end of the rainbow. The next one in the series is not due to be released for 7 months. Enough about me, here are my thoughts on this series. This is a Sherlock Holmes mystery series with a unique twist. I have never watched or read any Sherlock Holmes books before now. After Book 2, I desperately started looking for one to watch when I complete this book series. What I did discover is that the unique twist in this series, does appear to be truly unique to other Sherlock Holmes. I watched a few snippets of a BBC version and I believe that some of the characters (at least in name or general characterization) mirror those in other Sherlock Holmes versions. So, if you are fan of those, this should play to your interests. This book series does have a love interest side-story. I am not sure if that is common with the other Sherlock Holmes versions or not. Either way, it is perfectly done.

In addition, the narration by Kate Reading is superb! Since I am stuck in anxious calendar watching for the next 7 months, I am planning on looking up anything else that the Kate Reading has narrated and listen to those next.

In summary, I highly recommend the entire series. Each book was just as good as the prior one. If possible, you should read them in order to allow the characters to be revealed bit by bit, the way they are in the series. The twists and turns in each book is so countless that my brain is swimming, but not too much to make me feel like I am drowning. Finally, the side-romance-story is perfectly done. It gives you just enough, while making you want more (even though more would have not fit in with the characters and story).

Seriously though, why has no one made this a tv series? Especially now with the success of other period shows like Outlander and Bridgerton, this is a no-brainer!

This author has an amazing sense of humor!

I started reading this series because it was a romance story. I have been truly amazed at how often I have laughed with the characters' sense of humor. The author, Diana Gabaldon, is so more talented that I could have ever imagined. She has created characters that have such a casual sense of extreme humor, in addition to an incredibly passionate and steamy romance, blended in with non-stop action. Let me just say.... WOW!

This Narrator is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!

The Narrator, Davina Porter is incredible! She does such a wide array of accents of both females and males and they all sound simply amazing! She also narrates in such a true conversational tone that you feel like you are eaves-dropping on the characters' conversations. I want to choose books now, just based on her as the narrator.
