Historia
Elizabeth Black is the headmistress of a girls' school in 1830s Victorian London. She is also a well-respected author of stories written both for and about the upper-class ladies of Victorian society. But by night, she writes very different kinds of stories - the Penny Dreadfuls that are all the rage among the working-class men. Under the pseudonym Charles King, Elizabeth has written about dashing heroes fighting supernatural threats, intelligent detectives solving grisly murders, and dangerous outlaws romancing helpless women.

A Sweeping Story
Revisado: 04-13-24
I love Donati's beautiful writing. Her research is always impeccable. This is a sweeping story of a young woman's journey west to be the midwife for a Sante Fe community in the late 1850s. It is beautiful read.

Historia
Jill and Derick knew a normal life wasn’t possible for them. As a star on the popular TLC reality show 19 Kids and Counting, Jill grew up in front of viewers who were fascinated by her family’s way of life. She was the responsible, second daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle’s nineteen kids; always with a baby on her hip and happy to wear the modest ankle-length dresses with throat-high necklines.

A Daughter 's Story
Revisado: 10-11-23
A hard story to experience. Yet, the hope in Jill's voice rings clear. The story tells a different side of reality television. She gives a perspective that makes you question why parents are allowed to put their children on reality television. Her experience in therapy gives hope to others that reconciliation might one day be possible, but first, you need to work on yourself. I wish I could give her a hug and tell her, "You are a good daughter. "
